Dodge Nitro: 3.7 engine problems/timing chain

I'm hoping it's just the timing chain but I was told it could be the motor is blown. I was driving it and it felt like I lost compression, pulled over to the side of the hwy and smoke came out from the hood and smelled of anti freeze. When i try to start it now it sounds like the starter isn't engaging and everything turns on the serpentine belt. Is it just the timing chain you think? Thank you.

Sorry to hear of your issue. Since you lost antifreeze and compression sounds like you may have blown a head gasket?

If it proves to be a head gasket this video would help you understand what would be needed to repair. Good Luck!
