Cool The 2015 NHRA Drag Racing Season

The 2015 NHRA Drag Racing Season stands in history as one of the best for Mopar and its teams:

11/17/2015

-- The all-new Mopar Dodge Challenger R/T Funny Car made a spectaclar debut. The new Funny Car, campaigned by the stable of drivers at Don Schumacher Racing, won the title at the first four events of the NHRA season, and appeared in at least one lane of the final round at 23 of the 24 events this year.

-- The quartet of DSR drivers -- "Fast" Jack Beckman, Tommy Johnson Jr., Ron Capps and Matt Hagan -- finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th in the Funny Car standings and collected a total of 15 event wins.

-- Mopar Dodge Charger R/Ts set, and reset, national records for speed and elapsed time several times this season. The most recent was this past weekend at the season-ending event in Pomona, Calif. "Fast" Jack Beckman set a new national record for elapsed time (3.884 seconds) and Matt Hagan set a new national record for speed (331.45 mph).

-- Mopar Pro Stock driver Allen Johnson notched his second win of the season and 26th career victory at Pomona. Johnson battled from 11th place on the qualifications ladder to win the Wally trophy in his Dodge Dart. This also makes Johnson the last to win a Pro Stock race with a carbureted engine as the class switches to fuel injection for the 2016 season.

The Mopar racing team won't rest for long. The 2016 NHRA season begins at Pomona on Feb. 11.

Mopar Or No Car!

Mopar Pro Stock driver Allen Johnson collected his second trophy of the 2015 NHRA season with a win Sunday at the season-ending race in Pomona, Calif.

“Fast" Jack Beckman sets elapsed time NHRA National record in his 2015 Mopar Dodge Charger R/T and finishes second in Funny Car championship battle after a loss to eventual winner Del Worsham in the semifinals.
