FCA México reported sales of 48,424 units for the first half of 2017, up 4 percent versus 2016; best first semester over the last eight years.
“In an increasingly demanding market, it is important to offer our customers the best quality products and after-sales services,” said Bruno Cattori, President & CEO of FCA México. “This semester, we achieved a new sales record that shows the positive acceptance our vehicles are having in each segment, plus, last month, all FCA US brands improved in the J.D. Power 2017 U.S. Initial Quality Study.”
Alfa Romeo, the brand that stands out for design, technology and premium brand performance, sold 30 units. Alfa Romeo MiTo, Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Alfa Romeo 4C and Alfa Romeo Giulia continued their positive sales trends. Last month, Alfa Romeo Giulia was named “Game Charger” by Autocar.
Chrysler sold 56 units. The minivan that redefined its segment, Chrysler Pacifica, recorded positive sales results. Last month, Parents magazine and Edmunds named it “Best Minivan” on their list of the “10 Best Family Cars of 2017.” Also, Chrysler Pacifica led the minivan segment in its inaugural year in the J.D. Power 2017 U.S. Initial Quality StudySM.
In the first half of 2017, Dodge sales improved 12 percent versus the same period in 2016, with 17,025 units sold. In June, the brand sold 2,945 units. The brand's most successful vehicle was Dodge Attitude, which sold 1,710 units. Dodge Neon, with its exceptional fuel efficiency, sold 452 units. Dodge Grand Caravan, the minivan equipped with more than 55 available safety, security and technology features, sold 162 vehicles, while Dodge Challenger sold 116 units. In their respective segments, these two vehicles ranked second in the J.D. Power 2017 U.S. Initial Quality StudySM.
Fiat placed 1,216 units into the market, a 52 percent increase versus prior year; best June in its history. These sales were led primarily by Mobi, which achieved its best sales month ever with 629 units sold. Fiat Palio Sporting achieved its best June sales. Another vehicle that saw with positive sales results is the Fiat Uno, its design and great handling have made it a perfect vehicle for city driving.
Jeep sold 982 units. The recently launched Jeep Renegade continues to gain market acceptance, confirming that its innovative design, equipment and versatility make it a leader in its segment; last month, this vehicle sold 405 units. Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler reported sales of 284 units and 225 units, respectively.
Mitsubishi Motors Mexico finished the month with 719 units sold. Last month, Mirage sold 262 units, Mitsubishi L200 reported sales of 306 units and Mitsubishi Outlander sold 142 units.
Ram sales improved 9 percent over the prior year with 2,062 units sold. Ram 700 and Ram ProMaster Rapid continue as top leaders in their segments, selling 777 units and 396 units, respectively.
In June, Ram Truck was the industry’s most improved truck brand with more than a 24 percent improvement in the brand’s initial quality score from last year’s J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study.

Canada Reports Second-Best Start
FCA Canada Reports Second-Best Start to a Calendar Year on Record; Record June sales for Ram Brand

FCA Canada today marked the second-best start to a sales year in the Company’s 92-year history. A noteworthy 151,574 vehicles were sold through the first half of the year, led largely by the continued and growing popularity of trucks, SUVs and CUVs.
In part because of strong Ram Brand sales – including a record June – this is only the second time in FCA Canada history that sales have exceeded 150,000 units by the mid-year point of a calendar year.
Overall June 2017 FCA Canada sales were 26,926 units, down 7 per cent from June 2016. Retail sales were 19,159 units, down 5 per cent from the same month last year. FCA Canada fleet sales were 7,767 units (down 13 per cent from June 2016).
The Ram Brand, offering Canada’s longest-lasting line of pickup trucks, continues to be a key sales contributor. Overall, Ram Brand set a strong June sales record with 11,935 units sold, an increase of 30 per cent as compared with the same month last year. Zooming in, Ram light- and heavy-duty pickups also marked a June sales record, with sales up 27 per cent, as compared with June 2016.
Ram Brand grabbed headlines last week, introducing the new 2018 Ram Limited Tungsten Edition, which takes truck opulence to the highest level. Available in the third quarter of 2017, the new trim will be offered on the Ram 1500, Ram 2500 and Ram 3500. Ram Limited Tungsten Edition features ultra-premium “Natura Plus” Frost and Indigo-hued leather seats, the truck industry’s first suede headliner and genuine wood trim on the interior, plus more.
The made-in-Canada Dodge Challenger also marked a successful June 2017, with sales up 21 per cent versus the same month last year. Momentum continues behind the Brampton, Ontario-built muscle coupe, with consumer interest in exciting models like the 707-horsepower SRT Hellcat, the ultimate street-to-strip car, 840-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and – introduced just last week – the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody, a factory-production Hellcat with even more grip.

FCA US LLC today reported sales of 187,348 units, a 7 percent decrease compared with sales in June 2016 (202,421 units).
In June, retail sales of 139,947 units were down 5 percent compared with the same month in 2016, and represented 75 percent of total sales. In line with FCA’s strategy to reduce sales to the daily rental segment, fleet sales of 47,401 units were down as expected 15 percent year over year. The largest planned volume reduction in June fleet sales came from the Jeep brand which reduced its fleet sales number by 49 percent year over year. Fleet sales represented 25 percent of total June sales.
The Ram pickup truck, Ram ProMaster and Ram ProMaster City each posted their best June sales ever. Sales of the Jeep® Grand Cherokee were up 21 percent for its best June sales since 2005. The Jeep Renegade recorded its best June sales ever. Sales of the all-new Chrysler Pacifica were up 59 percent, the minivan’s best sales month since launch last year.
Ram Truck Brand
Sales of the Ram pickup truck were up 5 percent year over year for its best June sales ever. The Ram ProMaster full-size van and Ram ProMaster City van also posted their best June sales ever. The Ram Truck brand ended the month with its best June sales since 2004. Ram Truck is the industry’s most improved truck brand with more than a 24 percent improvement in the brand’s initial quality score from last year’s J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality StudySM (IQS). The annual IQS results for 2017 were announced in June.
The Ram Truck brand in June introduced the new 2018 Ram Limited Tungsten Edition, the most luxurious Ram pickup truck ever. The enhanced interior and exterior trim aligns with Ram’s leadership in design and luxury. The Limited Tungsten Edition MSRP starts at $55,120 (not including $1,395 destination).
Sales of the Jeep Grand Cherokee – the most awarded SUV ever – were up 21 percent in June for its best June sales since 2005. In addition, the Jeep Renegade recorded its best June sales ever. The Jeep Compass posted its best sales month so far this year.
Three Dodge brand vehicles posted year-over-year sales increases in June, led by the Dodge Challenger muscle car with its 24 percent year-over-year sales gain. Dodge Grand Caravan sales were up 9 percent for its best June sales since 2006. Dodge Viper sales increased 46 percent, compared with the same month a year ago. The Challenger and Grand Caravan ranked second in initial quality in their respective segments in the J.D. Power IQS.
Sales of the all-new Chrysler Pacifica and Chrysler 300 full-size sedan were up year-over-year in June. Sales of the Pacifica – the most awarded minivan of 2016 and 2017 – were up 59 percent in June, compared with the same month a year ago. June was the minivan’s best sales month since it was launched last year. The Pacifica continues to accumulate awards and accolades in 2017, including highest-ranking minivan in its maiden year in the J.D. Power IQS. Chrysler 300 sales were up 47 percent in June, compared with the same month a year ago. It was the full-size sedan’s best June sales since 2012. June was the Chrysler brand’s best sales month so far this year.
The all-new 2017 Fiat 124 Spider Abarth took the top award in the “Small Convertible” category at last month’s Topless in Miami Presented by Haartz competitive car event hosted by the Southern Automotive Media Association (SAMA). More than 40 journalists attended the event and drove more than 25 vehicles from various manufacturers. Journalists voted for their favorite vehicles after driving scenic routes in Key Biscayne, Fla.
Alfa Romeo Brand
Alfa Romeo brand sales of 1,017 units were up significantly compared with the same month a year ago.
