I have an 07 Dodge Nitro with the 3.7V6. Does anybody know how I can tell which transmission my Nitro came with? It looks like it's either the 42RLE or the NAG1 (W5A580).

I picked up a transmission dipstick to check the trans fluid level in my Nitro and the instructions for the dipstick has a different Chart for each transmission and I don't know which chart to read.

Where did you get the dipstick? It is my understanding the the Dodge Dakota uses the same transmission as the Dodge Nitro with the 3.7, the 42RLE. Since the Dakota has a dipstick and the Nitro does not, the dipstick for the Dakota should work in the Nitro.
