Having access to other owners has helped me so much! I was wondering if other RT owners specifically. This is a BIG one that terrifies me! I have a remote start on mine and i have noticed that when the engine starts after it has been sitting overnight the engine sounds like a a bucket of bolts and sometimes sounds like a diesel! I have read other forums and a similar complaint was listed. The end result was that a cylinder was scored and the block had to be replaced!Im still under warantee but for what would i want a vehicle that has had a major engine defect? There are other issues as well. The driverside footwell heat or lack thereof, there is a selection on the heating knob that says feet only but the air seems to come out every other port so that i have to close all the dashboard vents. Also on specifically one right hand turn that i take to work after the turn there is a one second delay from the gas pedal for the vehical to go.This too was observed on another site as a problem. And there are the other obvious ones roof racks lifting noise in the suspension that ofcourse the dealer can not duplicate seems to be a all too commom catch phrase for Dealerships. Any help with the engine prob would be great my Nitro was built between Jan 07 and april 07.

Everything you mention has been addressed in the past with updates by Chrysler for your NITRO. The heat on the floor and roof rack replacement are covered here, but why are you posting these? See your Dealer to have corrected under warranty or switch Dealers? If the engine needs replacement (very rare on the R/T) I would think you may be supplied a free loaner car. Make your list and drop it off tomorrow!

07 RT Problems

I also have some of the same problems with my dodge nitro r/t.... it has very bad noise when started up, then goes away after a minute or so.... i also have the fuel coming back up on me when gasing up....now i would take those two problems versus what i have going on now with it...the rear axle has broke and the parts are backordered for at least 6 weeks. Does anyone else have this/these problems as well?
