April 17, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich.

The Dodge brand is bringing its A-game for its 100th anniversary, significantly updating both the iconic Challenger muscle car and Charger four-door sedan.

The iconic Dodge Charger gets a full-body makeover for 2015 along with powertrain updates that include a standard TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission on both Charger’s standard 3.6-liter V-6 Pentastar engine and, new for 2015, the R/T equipped 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8.

“Our Dodge designers have resculpted nearly every single body panel of the Dodge Charger for 2015, giving it a sleek, nimble appearance,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO — Dodge Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “The Charger’s all-new exterior design combined with its standard new TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission and the latest in-car technology builds on the brand’s promise to deliver American performance machines with world-class efficiency, technology, authentic materials and standout styling for our customers.”

The 2015 Dodge Charger will be available in four models: SE, SXT, R/T and R/T Road & Track. Charger is built at the Brampton (Ont.) Assembly Plant in Canada. Production is slated to begin in the fourth quarter of 2014.

Charger continues to grow its market share
The 2015 Dodge Charger competes in the U.S. full-size car market, but stands alone in a class by itself as the only American-bred four-door muscle car. In March of 2014, the Dodge brand reached a significant milestone, with Challenger and Charger sales combining to sell a total of more than 1 million units in the United States.

The Charger’s combination of aggressive and youthful image, full-size functionality and world-class engineering and quality resonates with young and affluent buyers. Charger’s purchasers on average are 15 years younger than its competitors’ buyers within the segment, with more than half identifying themselves as millennials or Generation Xers.

The Charger’s appeal is attracting a high number of conquest buyers, helping drive a 62 percent increase in sales since 2009 – double the growth of the standard full-size car segment. In 2013, Charger posted its best sales year since 2007, further fueling a 3.2 percentage point gain in market share since 2009.

To help Charger keep its edge, Dodge is loading up the new sedan with a slew of new technologies and a host of premium features, such as high-end interiors, the latest technologies and impressive powertrain options, along with a new exterior design that is distinctly Dodge. ‘Pure’formance, Aero’dramatics’ and ‘Fun’ctionality in Design
Inspired by its performance-enthusiast roots when Charger first launched more than 45 years ago, the new Charger successfully pays homage to past muscle cars while offering distinctly modern all-new exterior and interior appointments.

The all-new exterior of the 2015 Dodge Charger is spiritually inspired by the iconic second-generation Charger from the late 1960s, and for 2015, specifically draws its cues from the 1969 model. With its rear-wheel-drive (RWD) platform and proven power, the Charger’s modern take on old-school muscle is sure to resonate with today’s enthusiasts.

The Charger’s easily recognizable Coke-bottle design and scalloped body sides, sinister front crosshairs and aggressive stance and signature LED “racetrack” tail lamps all get a major makeover for 2015 with cleaner lines to create a sleek, chiseled, nimble and lighter weight appearance. The exterior redesign includes changes to the hood, fenders, front and rear fascias, headlamps, tail lamps, front doors and spoiler.

Starting up front, the 2015 Charger’s new front styling features an all-new crosshair grille, LED fog lamps (on SXT and R/T), turn signals and daytime running lights (DRLs), and new projector-beam headlamps (HID lights on premium trims). The Charger’s all-new forward-leaning front fascia gives it a superhero’s confident stance. Blacked out front-end graphics create a mask that creates a family resemblance with the Dodge Dart and Durango. Slim, elongated DRLs and a full-width grille enhance the width of the sedan; Dodge logos are echoed in the outside corner of each headlamp.

In profile, the 2015 Charger carries forward its muscular Coke-bottle styling, with streamlined side scallops, while headlamps and tail lamps are now wrapped around each corner to create a trim, sinuous and tailored look. The net effect is that the car appears significantly lighter and more nimble.

The rear styling makeover begins at the touchdown point of the C-pillar, which is moved rearward to create an even more pronounced fastback appearance combined with a shorter rear overhang. A new three-piece spoiler is more integrated into the decklid, while the signature “racetrack” LED tail lamp takes on the same continuous glowing ribbon of light that debuted on the new 2014 Dodge Durango. The center high-mounted stop lamp is relocated from the top of the decklid to the roofline inside the back glass, allowing centering of the Charger’s backup camera.

All-new wheels and heritage colors complete the palette
All Charger models receive new wheels. A total of 10 wheels are available with 20-inch wheels standard on R/T models. In fact, six different 20-inch wheels are available on Charger for 2015, including an available 20-by-9-inch forged aluminum wheel finished in matte Hyper Black II paint. Special heritage colors include TorRed and new B5 Blue, along with Redline Tri-coat Pearl, Jazz Blue Pearl, Granite Crystal Metallic, Billet Silver Metallic, Phantom Black Tri-coat Pearl, Ivory Tri-coat Pearl and Bright White.

Driver-oriented interior with craftsmanship and world-class materials
The 2015 Charger’s restyled driver-focused interior features all-new premium, soft-touch materials, a new 7-inch thin-film transistor (TFT) customizable digital instrument gauge cluster and a new instrument panel center stack with a next-generation audio system embedded in the stack’s standard touchscreen display.

The Charger’s interior is instantly brought to life by its unique premium aluminum-lithograph driver bezel, which enables a seamless, billeted and highly detailed appearance that carries through the instrument cluster and center console. Thanks to advanced manufacturing techniques, the aluminum bezel features one-piece construction for a consistent appearance from nearly the A-pillar to the surrounding area of the Uconnect system, highlighting all the ergonomically located vehicle functions for the driver.

The instrument cluster has also been given the high-tech treatment and now includes a full-color 7-inch TFT screen similar to the one found in the 2014 Dodge Durango and Dodge Dart. Standard on all models, this screen gives drivers more than 100 ways to customize how information is presented.

Framing the Charger’s new instrument cluster is a newly redesigned three-spoke thick rim sport steering wheel with available paddle shifters. The buttons to control driver information functions are now larger and illuminated to make them easier to operate. Buttons for Uconnect and phone access now reside along the bottom edge of the horizontal spokes. As before, Charger’s popular audio controls are still found on the back of the upper steering wheel spokes.

Looking to the center stack, the 2015 Charger features the latest and greatest Uconnect Access suite of technologies. All 2015 models feature a standard Uconnect touchscreen, including a 5-inch or the largest in the class 8.4-inch. Under these large and easy-to-use touchscreens are redundant button and knob controls for audio and climate functions.

A performance-inspired all-new electronic shifter is standard on both V-6 and V-8 models. The fully electronic shifter mimics a linkage shifter, with tactile and visual cues for gear location, while providing the benefits of electronic shifting, such as short throws and low shift efforts.

Charger features eight all-new interior trims, including Black and Tungsten cloth, Black and Pearl leather, and Black and Ruby Red leather.

Segment-exclusive TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic now standard on all
Dodge Charger models
Once limited to sedans costing twice as much, the new 2015 Dodge Charger democratizes this exclusive world-class technology, offering the segment-exclusive TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission standard on every model, including new for 2015, on Dodge Charger SE models and HEMI-powered R/T models.

The 2015 Dodge Charger R/T and R/T Road & Track models integrate the TorqueFlite electronic eight-speed automatic transmission. By design, this state-of-the-art gearbox provides world-class shift quality, refinement and fuel efficiency. Paired with the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine and its 370 best-in-class horsepower and 395 lb.-ft. of torque, the Dodge Charger R/T models can deliver 0-60 mph performance in the high-5 seconds.

Best-in-class 31 mpg with standard Pentastar V-6
Dodge Charger SE and SXT rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) models are powered by the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, which delivers 292 horsepower (218 kW) at 6,350 rpm and 260 lb.-ft. (353 N•m) of torque at 4,800 rpm and a best-in-class 31 miles per gallon (mpg) on the highway.

For Dodge Charger customers who want 31 mpg V-6 fuel economy with even more power, the Dodge Charger SXT model offers the Rallye Appearance Group – providing up to 300 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque thanks to a unique cold-air induction system, sport-tuned exhaust and engine calibration.

The Pentastar engine features double-overhead camshafts (DOHC) with dual-independent cam phasers (DICP), integrated exhaust manifolds, polymer-coated piston skirts, forged connecting rods and a high-pressure die-cast aluminum cylinder block in a 60-degree configuration.

Refinement was a key objective for every component during the design phase of the engine and was achieved by using advanced computer-aided engineering techniques. Structural, intake and exhaust areas of the engine are designed to deliver low levels of overall sound. Combined with the use of premium hydraulic powertrain mounts, the 2015 Dodge Charger delivers refinement in all powertrain applications and at all RPMs.

Charger’s available HEMI V-8 engine delivers best-in-class 370 horsepower and
395 lb.-ft. of torque

For the muscle-car enthusiast, the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T featuring the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine with 370 horsepower (276 kW) and 395 lb.-ft. of torque (536 Nm), now combines the engine’s four-cylinder mode Fuel Saver Technology with three additional gears from the new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for maximum performance and efficiency.

For even more responsiveness, the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T Road & Track model features a unique 3.07 rear axle ratio (versus the standard 2.62 rear axle ratio) and a high-speed engine controller with unique engine and transmission calibrations. In addition, the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T model lineup’s Fuel Saver Technology seamlessly alternates between smooth, high-fuel-economy four-cylinder mode when less power is needed and V-8 mode when more power is in demand.

The 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine also features variable-cam timing (VCT) to improve fuel economy in two ways. First, it reduces the engine’s pumping work by closing the intake valve later. Second, it increases the expansion process of the combustion event. This allows more work to be transferred to the wheels instead of being lost out of the exhaust port as heat. VCT improves engine breathing, which improves engine efficiency and power.

New 2015 Dodge Charger delivers array of easy-to-use, state-of-the-art advanced technologies
From its updated award-winning Uconnect Access system, to the availability of Uconnect Access services with roadside assistance, theft-alarm notification, voice texting and the ability to turn the Charger into a Wi-Fi hot spot to the new Dodge Performance Pages, 3-D navigation and segment-exclusive premium Beats Audio system, the 2015 Dodge Charger delivers a slew of high-tech features for the ultimate driving experience.

The Charger’s acclaimed Uconnect Access system leverages advanced embedded cellular technology, which enables direct, one-touch connections with emergency service providers, roadside assistance dispatchers and vehicle information specialists.

With its available mobile phone app, Charger owners can start their vehicle and lock or unlock doors while away from the vehicle. Charger owners also can access on-demand Wi-Fi making their car a moving hot spot.

Charger’s new for 2015 Uconnect Via Mobile lets customers enjoy their personal Internet radio accounts and stream audio content using their own mobile device data plans. It seamlessly brings four popular Internet radio apps into the Dodge Charger, including Aha by Harman, iHeartRadio, Pandora and Slacker. Like all Uconnect-brand features, it is designed to be easy to learn and easy to use.

The 2015 Dodge Charger’s available navigation system accommodates one-step voice-controlled destination entry and enhanced 3-D navigation map graphics, making it simple for driver’s to recognize where they are and where they need to go.

The Charger also offers premium audio systems that are designed to immerse passengers in the ultimate audio experience, including the segment-exclusive high-definition Beats Audio system.

Thanks to the speed of its PowerNet electrical architecture, the 2015 Dodge Charger models equipped with Sport mode can instantly transform the four-door muscle car’s personality to improve performance. By engaging Sport mode, Charger drivers can reduce shift times from approximately 400 milliseconds to 250 milliseconds, increase engine and throttle responsiveness, adjust electronic stability control (ESC) settings and firm up the steering feel.

Additionally on the Charger R/T Road & Track model, the driver can use the all-new Dodge Performance Pages, which is available on the segment’s largest 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen. It includes active launch control, launch control RPM settings, performance timers and performance gauges, such as G-force indicators and engine performance.

New 2015 Dodge Charger offers more than 80 safety and security features; leverages state-of-the-art driver-assist features
The Dodge Charger offers more than 80 safety and security features, including many that are new for 2015. New available features for the model year include Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus, which provides autonomous braking and, under certain circumstances, slows or brings vehicle to full stop when frontal collision appears imminent.

Adaptive Cruise Control Plus with Full Stop helps maintain distance from the vehicle ahead and, under certain traffic conditions, the system can bring the new 2015 Dodge Charger to full stop without driver intervention. New Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist introduces subtle steering-wheel input to alert the driver of inadvertent lane departure and assist with corrective action.

Charger’s ParkSense rear park assist system works when the car is in reverse, sensing objects at low speeds. If imminent collision is detected, the system will provide a momentary, autonomous brake pulse or, in certain circumstances, bring the vehicle to a stop.

New for 2015, 9-1-1 call/Assist Call connects Dodge Charger occupants directly with emergency-service providers via built-in data connection with a push of a button, a feature exclusive to Chrysler Group’s Uconnect Access service.

The Charger’s standard Keyless Enter ’n Go activates interior lighting and enables passive cabin entry and trunk access through the driver’s personalized key fob. The new Charger also includes a standard ultrasonic security system with an anti-tilt feature that sounds an alarm if vehicle is towed or raised on a jack.

Enthusiast-inspired Rear-Wheel Drive architecture with advanced technological solutions
The chassis of the all-new 2015 Dodge Charger is designed, engineered and fine-tuned to deliver world-class performance and efficiencies thanks to its advanced technological solutions, which include:

Electric power steering (EPS)
New EPS now provides three driver-selectable steering modes: Normal, Comfort and Sport. Tuning allows for more responsive steering for spirited driving while maintaining ease in low-speed situations and when parking
All-new, lighter weight axles for RWD and AWD
All-new cast-aluminum axles and axle housing provide weight savings and help to reduce parasitic friction
Sport mode
Sport mode provides blistering-quick gear changes, reducing shift times by 37 percent (250 milliseconds vs. 400 milliseconds), while engaging a more aggressive transmission calibration. When Auto Stick is engaged with Sport mode, the driver can select and hold the desired gear without unexpected shifts, including at the redline
Sport mode also engages a more aggressive throttle map and steering feel
Electronic shifter
Fully electronic shifter provides the intuitive look and feel of a traditional linkage shifter with less shift effort, short throws and refined engagement and detents providing clear physical feedback of gear position. Like the available steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters for manual shift control, the new electronic shifter also has a manual-mode shift gate for Auto Stick control

Segment’s most innovative All-Wheel Drive system delivers best-in-class fuel economy
The 2015 Dodge Charger SE and SXT are available with AWD capability thanks to a segment-exclusive active transfer case and front-axle disconnect system that improves fuel economy by up to 5 percent. No other major automotive manufacturer offers the combination of these two independent technologies. Dodge Charger’s innovative AWD system seamlessly transitions between RWD and AWD with no driver intervention. When AWD is not required, the system automatically disconnects the front axle to maximize fuel economy while still providing the outstanding performance and handling inherent in RWD vehicles. To better anticipate low-traction roadways, the Dodge Charger’s innovative AWD system automatically engages in cold weather, when slip is detected or when the windshield wipers are on in rainy or snowy conditions.

August 13, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. -

Dodge is upping its high-performance game again with the unveiling of the new 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.

The new Charger SRT Hellcat will feature the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® Hellcat V-8 engine that produces 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque – making it the quickest, fastest, most powerful production sedan in the world, as well as the most capable and technologically advanced four-door muscle car in America.

“For the last eight years, a large part of the Dodge Charger’s successful formula has been its many personalities. It’s a muscle car, a performance sedan, a family capable sedan; its success is that it can be any or all of those things, depending on how the customer chooses to equip their car,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO — Dodge and SRT Brands. “And now, with a NHRA-certified quarter mile time of 11.0 seconds and a 204 mph top speed, the new 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat redefines itself again, as the quickest, fastest, most powerful sedan in the world!”

The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will be built at the Brampton (Ont.) Assembly plant. Production is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2015.

Awe-inspiring powertrain; largest brakes ever offered in a Chrysler Group vehicle

The new 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is powered by the new supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 engine. Its 707 horsepower matches the highest rating of any V-8 engine in Chrysler Group’s celebrated history – that of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

The all-new supercharged V-8 engine is mated to the beefy new TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission.

This new Hellcat engine is Dodge and SRT’s first application of V-8 supercharger technology, featuring a forged-steel crankshaft with induction-hardened bearing surfaces. The result is a crank so well-engineered it can withstand firing pressures of 110 bar (1,595 psi) – the equivalent of five family sedans standing on each piston, every two revolutions. And its unique, specially tuned crank damper has been tested to 13,000 rpm.

High-strength, forged-alloy pistons, developed using advanced telemetry measurement, are coupled to powder-forged connecting rods with high-load-capacity bushings and diamond-like-carbon-coated piston pins.

The supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 has premium-grade, heat-treated aluminum-alloy cylinder heads, which are optimized for superior thermal conductivity. And its die-cast aluminum rocker covers are HEMI Orange.

Standard on the Charger SRT Hellcat is the largest front-brake package ever offered in a Chrysler Group vehicle, which were first introduced on the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat, featuring all-new 390-mm (15.4-inch) Brembo two-piece rotors with six-piston calipers for outstanding heat management and thermal capacity and longevity.

The unrivaled four-door performance numbers tell an impressive story with the quarter mile in 11.0 seconds, 0-100-0 mph in under 13 seconds, and a top speed of 204 mile per hour (mph).

All-new Drive Modes tailor the driving experience to each individual driver

Whether its on-road or on-track, Charger SRT Hellcat owners can personalize their drive experience, via the all-new Drive Modes feature. Drive Modes tailor the driving experience by controlling horsepower, transmission shift speeds, paddle shifters, traction and suspension. Drive Modes are pre-configured for Sport, Track and Default settings, while the Custom setting lets the driver customize the drive experience to their favorite settings.

Custom — Allows the driver to personalize the vehicle’s performance
Sport — Delivers increased vehicle performance capability over the Default Mode
Track — Delivers maximum vehicle performance capability on smooth, dry surfaces
Default — Activates automatically when starting the vehicle
Eco — Maximizes fuel economy with a revised shift schedule, pedal map and second-gear starts

The Drive Modes feature is controlled through the Uconnect system and may be accessed by performing any of the following:

Pushing the SRT button on the instrument panel switch bank
Selecting “Drive Modes” from the “SRT & Apps” menu
Selecting “Drive Modes” from within the Performance Pages menu

Unlocking the power

The all-new 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat comes standard with two key fobs – red and black. The red key fob is the only key that can unlock the full horsepower and torque potential of the SRT Hellcat engine; while the black key fob limits the driver to a reduced engine output.

When Valet Mode is activated, the following vehicle configurations are enabled:

Engine is remapped to significantly reduce horsepower and torque; limited to 4,000 rpm
Transmission locks out access to first gear and upshifts earlier than normal
Transmission will treat the manual shifter position the same as the drive position
Traction, steering and suspension are set to their “Street” settings
Steering-wheel paddle shifters are disabled
Drive Mode functions are disabled
Electronic stability control (ESC) is enabled to Full-on
Launch Control is disabled

The driver can activate and deactivate Valet Mode with a four-digit PIN code they create.

Sinister, functional exterior design

Inspired by its performance-enthusiast roots when Charger first launched more than 45 years ago, the new Charger successfully pays homage to past muscle cars while offering distinctly modern all-new exterior and interior appointments.

The Dodge and SRT design team builds upon the 2015 Dodge Charger’s new modern four-door fastback coupe’s already iconic exterior styling by adding a sinister-looking, unique front fascia, hood, rear fascia and spoiler.

The new exterior of the 2015 Dodge Charger is spiritually inspired by the iconic second-generation Charger from the late 1960s, and for 2015, specifically draws its cues from the 1969 model. With its rear-wheel-drive (RWD) platform and proven power, the Charger’s modern take on old-school muscle is sure to resonate with today’s enthusiasts.

Up front, the Charger SRT Hellcat receives the larger, power-bulge aluminum hood, which features a dedicated “cold-air” intake – a visual styling cue from the first Viper coupe built in 1996 – and dual air extractors to ensure effective removal of heat and reduced air turbulence in the engine compartment.

The redesigned front fascia and grille use unique, blacked out upper and lower textures to produce the menacing look that is sure to make onlookers notice the ultimate performance sedan.

An integrated front splitter optimizes airflow to the cooling modules without compromising vehicle balance.

Filling the wheel wells are “Slingshot” split-seven spoke 20 x 9.5-inch, lightweight forged-aluminum wheels with either standard Matte Black or available Brass Monkey/dark bronze finishes.

Two new 275/40ZR20 Pirelli P Zero tires provide performance for all seasons. Both Pirelli P Zero Nero and P Zero tires are Y-Plus rated to handle the extreme speeds the Charger SRT Hellcat is capable of producing.

At the rear, a single piece decked spoiler is painted in body color while the unique fascia and valence showcase the 4-inch round exhaust tips.

The Dodge Charger SRT’s signature “racetrack” LED tail lamps take on the same continuous glowing ribbon of light that debuted on the new 2014 Dodge Durango.

The center high-mounted stop lamp is relocated from the top of the deck lid to the roofline inside the back glass, allowing centering of the Charger SRT’s backup camera.

The rear styling makeover begins at the touchdown point of the C-pillar, which is moved rearward to create an even more pronounced fastback appearance combined with a shorter rear overhang.

High-performance driver-oriented interior

The 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat’s restyled driver-focused interior features premium, soft-touch materials, a new 7-inch thin-film transistor (TFT) customizable digital instrument gauge cluster and a new instrument panel center stack with the latest generation 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen media center.

New for 2015, drivers can select one of the many offered backgrounds to connect the digital look and feel with their chosen interior package. In addition, the Charger SRT Hellcat comes standard with a premium 900 watt, 18-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system.

An all-new and class-exclusive electronic shifter with an all-new driver-oriented T-handle provides the driver with intuitive gear selection and offers an Auto Stick selector gate for added control.

A redesigned SRT-branded heated steering wheel features a flat bottom and thick rim for the high-performance driver. Standard paddle shifters are located on the back of the upper spokes. The buttons to control the driver-configurable, full-color thin-film transistor (TFT) display are large and illuminated. Buttons for Uconnect and phone access now reside along the bottom edge of the horizontal spokes. Optional adaptive cruise control is configured by buttons that are symmetrically opposite on the right-hand side of the wheel. As before, the highly praised audio controls are still found on the back of the upper spokes. This new power tilt-telescoping steering wheel also has a 360-degree heat element.

The new 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat features redesigned seats with improved cushioning and more comfortable contours. For improved comfort and convenience, the SRT Hellcat includes standard heated and ventilated front high-performance seats and heated rear seats.

Charger SRT Hellcat

08/14/2014

Earlier in the year Dodge revealed the SRT Hellcat version of the Challenger and now it’s the Charger’s turn. As you can see, designers changed up the look of the car, adding heat extractors in the hood, unique front and rear fascias and LED lighting in the back and front. The car is powered by the same supercharged 6.2L HEMI V-8 in the Challenger Hellcat, which cranks out 707 horsepower and 650 pound feet of torque, but the Charger only gets the 8-speed automatic transmission. It also comes with upgraded brakes, tires and suspension. On those street tires, the Charger SRT Hellcat has a top speed of 204 miles per hour, which is 5 more than the Challenger and can run the quarter mile in just 11 seconds. Production of the Charger SRT Hellcat is scheduled to start early next year.

Charger continues to grow its market share

New 2015 Charger pays homage to its past; offers distinctly modern all-new exterior and interior appointments
The all-new exterior of the 2015 Dodge Charger is spiritually inspired by the iconic second-generation Charger from the late 1960s, and for 2015, specifically drawing on cues from the historic 1969 model, which include the unmistakable Coke-bottle design and scalloped body sides. For 2015, redesigned hood, fenders, front and rear fascias, headlamps, tail lamps, front doors and spoiler all work together to provide the new Charger with a chiseled, nimble and lighter-weight appearance.

Dodge Charger SXT and R/T models include an all-new crosshair grille, LED fog lamps (on SXT and R/T), turn signals and DRLs, and new projector-beam headlamps (HID lights on premium trims). An all-new forward-leaning front fascia gives Charger a superhero’s confident stance, while blacked out front-end graphics with the Rallye Group and on R/T models create a mask that resembles the bloodlines to Dodge Dart and Durango. For added detail, elongated DRLs and a full-width grille enhance the width of the sedan, while Dodge logos are echoed in the corner of each headlamp.

More streamlined side scallops enhance the Dodge Charger sedan’s muscular Coke-bottle profile, while a restyled C-pillar gives the sedan an even more pronounced fastback appearance (moved rearward), plus headlamps and tail lamps wrapped at the corners provide a tailored look and significantly lighter appearance.

Charger’s signature “racetrack” LED tail lamp now features the continuous glowing ribbon first seen on the 2014 Dodge Durango, while its center high-mounted stop lamp is now relocated inside the back glass to center-mount the available ParkView backup camera. Final details include a fascia-mounted dual-exhaust system and available new three-piece low profile spoiler.

The Dodge and SRT design teams built upon the 2015 Dodge Charger’s new modern four-door fastback coupe’s already iconic exterior styling by adding a sinister-looking, unique front fascia, hood, rear fascia and spoiler.

Up front, the Charger SRT Hellcat receives the larger, power-bulge aluminum hood, which features a dedicated cold-air intake – a visual styling cue from the first Viper coupe built in 1996 – and dual air extractors to ensure effective removal of heat and reduced air turbulence in the engine compartment.

The redesigned front fascia and grille on both Charger SRT Hellcat and 392 models uses unique, blacked out upper and lower textures to produce the menacing look that is sure to make onlookers notice the ultimate performance sedans.

An integrated front splitter on both SRT models optimizes airflow to the cooling modules without compromising vehicle balance.

At the rear, a single piece decked spoiler is painted in body color while the unique fascia and valence showcase the 4-inch round exhaust tips.

Special heritage exterior colors include new B5 Blue, which joins TorRed, as well as Redline Red Tri-coat Pearl, Jazz Blue Pearl, Granite Crystal Metallic, Billet Silver Metallic, Phantom Black Tri-coat Pearl, Ivory Tri-coat Pearl and Bright White.
All-new wheels and heritage colors complete the palette
All Charger models receive new wheels for 2015. A total of 14 wheel options are available with 20-inch wheels standard on R/T models. In fact, 10 different 20-inch wheels are available on Charger for 2015, including an R/T Scat Pack-exclusive 20-by-9-inch polished-aluminum wheel with black pockets. Additionally, a 20-by-9-inch forged aluminum wheel finished in matte Hyper Black II paint is available.

All Charger SRT models receive Slingshot split-seven spoke 20-by-9.5-inch, lightweight forged-aluminum wheels in Hyper Black on the SRT 392 or standard Matte Black on Hellcat with Brass Monkey/Dark Bronze finish available.

Driver-oriented interior with craftsmanship and world-class materials
For 2015, Dodge Charger’s restyled driver-focused interior features new premium, soft-touch materials, a new full-color 7-inch customizable DID gauge cluster, plus a new instrument panel center stack with the newest Uconnect system with segment’s largest available 8.4-inch touchscreen display available.

Framing the Charger’s new 7-inch color DID gauge cluster is a newly redesigned three-spoke thick rim sport steering wheel with available paddle shifters. The buttons to control driver, vehicle and phone information functions are now larger and illuminated to make them easier to operate. As before, Charger’s popular audio controls are still found on the back of the upper steering wheel spokes.

A performance-inspired all-new electronic shifter is standard on all models. The fully electronic shifter mimics a linkage shifter, with tactile and visual cues for gear location, while providing the benefits of electronic shifting, such as short throws and low shift efforts.

A total of 19 interior color and trim combinations are available on the 2015 Dodge Charger, including Black and Tungsten cloth, Black and Pearl leather, and Black and Ruby Red leather.

Three interior environments are exclusive to the all-new Charger R/T Scat Pack interior. Most notable are performance seats with Scat Pack embroidery on Black Ballistic II cloth, or premium Black, or Ruby Red and Black, heated and ventilated Nappa leather with Alcantara suede inserts. Other unique appointments include a performance steering wheel with paddle shifters, “Scat Pack” startup screen splash, bright pedals and dark brushed interior accents.

Four interior trim combinations are available on the 2015 Charger SRT models: Black or Black/Ruby Red Nappa leather performance seats with Alcantara suede inserts, accent stitching and embroidered SRT logo along with Black or Black/Sepia Laguna leather performance seats, accent stitching and embossed SRT logo.

TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission now standard on Charger SE, delivers best-in-class 31 mpg
Once standard only on Dodge Charger SXT models, the new 2015 Charger SE drops its former five-speed for the state-of-the-art TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission. Both models are powered by the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, which delivers 292 horsepower (218 kW) at 6,350 rpm and 260 lb.-ft. (353 N•m) of torque at 4,800 rpm and a best-in-class 31 miles per gallon (mpg) on the highway. For Dodge Charger customers who want V-6 fuel economy with even more power, the Dodge Charger SXT model offers the Rallye Group – providing up to 300 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque thanks to a unique cold-air induction system, sport-tuned exhaust and engine calibration.

Charger R/T now standard with TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission and 370 horsepower HEMI V-8 engine
For the muscle-car enthusiast looking for an affordable V-8 sedan, the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T features the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine with 370 horsepower (276 kW) and 395 lb.-ft. of torque (536 Nm), now combining the engine’s four-cylinder mode Fuel Saver Technology with three additional gears from the new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for maximum performance, efficiency and 0-60 mile per hour (mph) performance in the high-5 second range. For even more responsiveness, the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T Road & Track model features a unique 3.07 rear axle ratio (versus the standard 2.62 rear axle ratio) and a high-speed engine controller, paddle shifters, and Sport Mode II.

Designed and engineered for any high-performance driving enthusiast: All-new 2015 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack
Like the all-new Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack stable mate, the all-new 2015 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack model includes an SRT-powered 6.4-liter HEMI powertrain and paddle-shifting TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission, showcasing the segment’s best combination of power, performance, styling and technology.

At the front, the new 2015 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack stares down the competition with its menacing looks. Paying homage to the first Viper coupe built in 1996, the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack receives a power-bulge aluminum hood, with NACA duct to improve engine cooling. A model-specific front fascia features an upper grille in black with dynamic grille texture, which spans between the new projector headlamps for a signature graphic look that highlights Charger’s wide track. Below, a massive lower grille and integrated front splitter optimize engine and cooling module airflow. Flared side sills give the four-door muscle car an even more athletic look, while its wider 20-by-9 inch wheels provide a flusher body-side appearance and improved grip. At the rear, a single piece decked spoiler is painted in Satin Black, while the unique fascia and lower valence showcases the active exhaust system’s 4-inch round exhaust tips.

With a best-in-class naturally aspirated 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine, the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack delivers 115 more horsepower and a 90-lb.-ft. leap in torque compared with the 5.7-liter Charger R/T models – representing more than a 31 percent jump in horsepower and 22 percent jump in torque. The four-door muscle car’s best-in-class power enables it to turn mid 4-second 0-60 mph times and mid-12-second quarter mile times. Additionally, an electronically controlled active exhaust system provides a deep, throaty, note in keeping with its heritage and track-bred credentials.

Performance upgrades include red Brembo four-piston caliper front brakes with world-class stopping power (60-0 mph in 120 feet), high-performance suspension, 3.09 rear-axle ratio, performance steering wheel; three-season performance tires; Dodge Performance Pages, which allow driver control over a range of vehicle settings, including steering feel, transmission response, stability and traction controls, and standard launch control. Other equipment highlights include performance seats with “Scat Pack” embroidery, Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen display with AM/FM/SiriusXM Radio, Bluetooth, 3-D navigation-capability and Uconnect Access with 9-1-1 call/Assist Call, six premium speakers with 276-watt amplifier, aluminum pedals, configurable 7-inch DID cluster with “Scat Pack” splash graphic, 180-mph speedometer, ParkView rear backup camera, ParkSense rear park assist, Scat Pack grille badge, “HEMI 392” fender badges along with “Charger” and “R/T” heritage badge on the deck lid.

Dodge Charger SRT 392 elevates high-performance envelope even higher
The Charger SRT 392 is powered by a 392 cubic inch (6.4-liter) HEMI V-8 engine with the same best-in-class naturally aspirated 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque, increases of 15 horsepower and 5 lb.-ft. of torque over the 2014 model year. Building off the R/T Scat Pack, the Charger SRT 392 features unique 20-by-9.5-inch wide “Slingshot” forged Hyper Black aluminum wheels with new 275/40ZR-20 Pirelli tires, the largest front brakes ever offered in a Chrysler Group vehicle – 15.4-inch front brakes, Brembo six-piston calipers with two-piece slotted and vented rotors, SRT-tuned high-performance adaptive damping suspension (ADS), rear body-color spoiler, SRT Performance Pages with launch control, available Harman Kardon Premium audio system with 18-speakers, a trunk-mounted subwoofer and a 900-watt amplifier, high-performance Nappa leather seats with Alcantara suede inserts, heated and ventilated front seats, unique SRT flat-bottom three-spoke heated leather-wrapped, power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and red push-button start.

Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is the ultimate performance sedan
The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat takes the performance sedan world by storm. The new Charger SRT Hellcat features the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 engine that produces 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, a top speed of 204 miles per hour, National Hot Rod Association (NHRA)-certified, quarter-mile elapsed time of 11.0 seconds on street tires, making it the quickest, fastest, most powerful production sedan in the world, as well as the most capable and technologically advanced four-door muscle car in America.

Additionally, the SRT Hellcat adds the following equipment to the Charger SRT 392 model: two key fobs to control engine output – red fob and black fob; SRT Performance Pages with boost gauge, unique SRT flat-bottom three-spoke finished with Gunmetal accents; Dark Spun aluminum accents, DID with 200-mph speedometer, aluminum performance hood with NACA duct and dual air extractors, Slingshot forged-aluminum wheels with Matte Black or Brass Monkey/Dark Bronze finish; and Hellcat fender badges.

Newest TorqueFlite technology in Hellcat
For 2015, Chrysler Group also adds a new member to its TorqueFlite family of eight-speed automatic transmissions. Like its predecessors, it is unparalleled in efficiency and unrivaled for its smoothness. But to withstand the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8’s groundbreaking output, this transmission’s maximum engine-torque capacity is 30 percent greater than any eight-speed transmission previously offered by Chrysler Group.

With the new transmission, the company added an extra layer of quality testing to make sure shift responsiveness would match SRT customers’ expectations in a wide range of driving scenarios.

Enthusiast-inspired rear-wheel drive architecture with new advanced technological solutions
The chassis of the all-new 2015 Dodge Charger is designed, engineered and fine-tuned to deliver world-class performance and efficiencies, thanks to its advanced technological solutions, which include:

Electric power steering (EPS)
New EPS now provides three driver-selectable steering modes: Normal, Comfort and Sport. Tuning allows for more responsive steering for spirited driving while maintaining ease in low-speed situations and when parking
All-new, lighter weight axles for RWD and AWD
All-new cast-aluminum axles and axle housing provide weight savings and help to reduce parasitic friction
On the Charger R/T Road & Track and R/T Scat Pack models, the driver can use the Uconnect touchscreen for active launch control, launch control RPM settings, performance timers and gauges, such as g-force indicators and engine performance
On the Charger SRT models, drivers are provided with a range of performance statistics, including the vehicle’s dynamic handling, braking, engine horsepower, engine torque, acceleration and elapsed times
Sport Mode II provides blistering-quick gear changes, reducing shift times by 37 percent (250 milliseconds vs. 400 milliseconds), while engaging a more aggressive transmission calibration. When Auto Stick is engaged with Sport mode, the driver can select and hold the desired gear without unexpected shifts, including at the redline
Sport Mode II also engages a more aggressive throttle map and steering feel
Fully electronic shifter provides the intuitive look and feel of a traditional linkage shifter with less shift effort, short throws and refined engagement and detents providing clear physical feedback of gear position. Like the available steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters for manual shift control, the new electronic shifter also has a manual-mode shift gate for Auto Stick control

Best-in-class AWD fuel economy with segment’s most innovative AWD system
Along with their fuel-saving TorqueFlite eight-speed transmissions, 2015 Dodge Charger SE AWD and SXT AWD models feature a segment-exclusive active transfer case and front-axle disconnect system that automatically disconnects the front axle to deliver best-in-class fuel economy (18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway). To better anticipate low-traction roadways, the AWD system automatically engages in cold weather, when slip is detected or when the windshield wipers are on in rainy or snowy conditions.

Adaptive Cruise Control-Plus with Full Stop helps maintain distance from the vehicle ahead and, under certain traffic conditions, the system can bring the new 2015 Dodge Charger to full stop without driver intervention. New Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist introduces subtle steering-wheel input to alert the driver of inadvertent lane departure and assist with corrective action. Charger’s ParkSense rear park assist system works when the car is in Reverse, sensing objects at low speeds.

The all-new 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat comes standard with two key fobs – red and black. The red key fob is the only key that can unlock the full horsepower and torque potential of the SRT Hellcat engine, while the black key fob limits the driver to a reduced engine output.

A pin-code-protected Valet mode is also standard on the Charger SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat for peace of mind when handing the keys over to unfamiliar drivers.

Thanks to Charger’s available Uconnect Via mobile system, passengers can use their own mobile device data plans to enjoy their personal Internet radio accounts and stream audio content via four popular Internet radio apps – Aha by Harman, iHeartRadio, Pandora and Slacker.

The 2015 Dodge Charger’s available navigation system accommodates one-step voice-controlled destination entry and enhanced 3-D navigation map graphics, making it simple for drivers to recognize where they are and where they need to go.

New Dodge Charger Earns 2015 ALG Residual Value Award

New Dodge Charger Earns 2015 ALG Residual Value Award

New 2015 Dodge Charger recognized with ALG Residual Value Award for the first time
Residual Value Awards recognize the vehicles and brands that stand out from the rest of the market by representing quality, long-term reliability and strong desirability

November 17, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. -

The new 2015 Dodge Charger has received the Residual Value Award in the “Fullsize Car” category from ALG, the industry benchmark for residual values and depreciation data.

The annual ALG Residual Value Awards recognize vehicles that are predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a conventional three-year period. This is the Charger’s first Residual Value Award in the Fullsize Car category.

“We’ve seen some amazing used market retention from the Charger over the years, and buyers clearly love its unique execution,” said Larry Dominique, President of ALG. “With the improvements Dodge has baked in for 2015, it should continue to lead the Fullsize segment going forward.”

ALG recognizes 26 vehicles with segment awards. Award winners are determined through careful study of the competition in each segment, historical vehicle performance and industry trends. Vehicle quality, production levels relative to demand and pricing and marketing strategies represent key factors that impact ALG’s residual value forecasts.

“The new 2015 Dodge Charger is unique in its segment, delivering unrivaled rear-wheel-drive performance and attitude,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO – Dodge and SRT Brands, Chrysler Group LLC. “This award from ALG is a testament to how well the Charger holds it value, as well as to all the updates we’ve made for 2015, including a new exterior, a standard new state-of-the-art eight-speed automatic transmission and several new models, including the all-new 707 horsepower Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.”

New 2015 Dodge Chargers are starting to arrive in dealerships this month. Production of the 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat will start in the first quarter of 2015.
