First-ever Grand Cherokee 4xe
The all-new 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe is the first Grand Cherokee to offer a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) variant. Its introduction signals the continued growth of the Jeep brand’s electrified mission of “Zero Emission Freedom,” as the brand explores future mobility during an anniversary year that celebrates 80 years of achievements, insights and innovations.

The 4xe PHEV technology enhances the fun, freedom, and adventure that the Jeep brand is known for, while providing unprecedented performance, fuel economy and environmental friendliness:
  • Targeting an estimated 25 miles (40 km) of all-electric range and 57 MPGe
  • 375 hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque
  • Quadra Trac II 4x4 system with two-speed transfer case and 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio
  • 47.4:1 crawl ratio
  • 6,000-lbs (2,720 kg) 4xe max towing capability
“The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe driver can tailor its hybrid powertrain to suit each trip, from daily commuting in pure-electric mode to extended highway road trips with no range anxiety, allowing owners to explore nature off-road in near silence,” Meunier added. “This is another important step toward achieving our global vision of Zero Emission Freedom. By 2025, we plan to offer a fully electric Jeep vehicle in every SUV segment."

Available in the Grand Cherokee Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve, the 4xe propulsion system combines two electric motors, a 400-volt battery pack, 2.0-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine and TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for maximum efficiency and capability.

Overall, the 4xe system delivers 375 horsepower (280 kW) and 470 lb.-ft. (637 Nm) of torque. The Grand Cherokee 4xe, targeting an estimated 25 miles (40 km) of all-electric range, returns an estimated 57 MPGe and has an estimated total range of more than 440 miles (708 km).

The fuel-efficient 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine is part of Stellantis’s Global Medium Engine family. The high-tech, direct-injection engine uses a twin-scroll, low-inertia turbocharger mounted directly to the cylinder head. Efficiency is enhanced via the use of electric power steering and an electrically driven air conditioning compressor, removing those loads from the engine.

The conventional alternator is replaced with a high-voltage, liquid-cooled motor generator unit. Connected to the engine crankshaft pulley via a belt, the motor generator spins the engine for nearly seamless, fuel-saving, start-stop operation and generates electricity for the battery pack.

A larger high-voltage motor generator is mounted in the transmission, replacing the torque converter. Two clutches manage power and torque from the e-motor and engine.

A clutch is mounted between the engine and the motor. When the system operates in electric-only mode this clutch is open so there is no mechanical linkage between the engine and the e-motor. When the clutch is closed, combined torque from the 2.0-liter engine and the e-motor flow through the automatic transmission. A variable clutch mounted behind the e-motor manages engagement with the transmission to improve drivability and efficiency.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe carries a 400-volt, 17-kWh EV battery. The battery units and controls mount underneath the vehicle, packaged under the floor and protected by a series of skid plates.

The battery pack system includes a dedicated heating and cooling circuit to keep the battery at its optimum temperature for best performance. The system includes a dedicated heater unit and a chiller that uses the Grand Cherokee’s air-conditioning refrigerant to reduce coolant temperature when needed.

The Grand Cherokee’s 4xe system also includes an Integrated Dual Charging Module (ICDM) that combines a battery charger and a DC/DC converter in a single, compact unit and a Power Inverter Module (PIM) that is reduced in size. These are mounted under the body and protected with steel shields.

All high-voltage electronics are sealed and waterproof. The Trail Rated Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is capable of water fording up to 24 inches (61 cm).

The charge port is beneath a push-open/push-close cover on the left front fender for convenient nose-in parking at charging locations. The charge port includes LED indicators of charging status. An LED battery level monitor sits on top of the instrument panel, making it easy to check battery state of charge at-a-glance during charging.

4xe E Selec modes
With E Selec modes, the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe driver can tailor the hybrid powertrain to best suit each trip, whether it be commuting, off-roading or long-distance travel.

The driver selects the desired powertrain mode via buttons mounted on the instrument panel, to the left of the steering wheel:
  • Hybrid: Blends torque from the electric motor and gas engine. The powertrain will optimize battery and engine power to deliver the best combination of fuel efficiency and performance
  • Electric: Operates on zero-emission electric power only until the battery reaches the minimum charge or the driver requests more torque (such as wide-open throttle), which engages the engine
  • eSave: Prioritizes the engine, saving the battery charge for later use. The driver can also choose between Battery Save and Battery Charge during eSave via the Hybrid Electric Pages in the Uconnect 5 monitor
Regardless of the mode selected, the Grand Cherokee 4xe operates as a hybrid once the battery nears its minimum state of charge.

The driver information display and main touchscreen include Eco Coaching Pages. The Eco Coaching Pages let owners monitor power flow and see the impact of regenerative braking, schedule charging times to take advantage of lower electric rates and view their driving history with a detail of electric and gasoline usage.

Regenerative braking is part of the 4xe system. When the driver steps on the brake pedal, the powertrain control engages the maximum available regenerative braking, up to 0.25 g, from the electric motors to slow the vehicle, augmented with the Grand Cherokee’s traditional friction brakes. With 4x4 engaged, all four wheels feed torque for regenerative braking, maximizing the energy recovery. Electricity from regenerative braking is fed to the battery pack to maintain or increase the state of charge.

A driver-selectable Max Regen feature deploys a more assertive regenerative braking calibration when the vehicle sees zero throttle input from the driver (coasting). Max Regen can slow the Grand Cherokee 4xe faster than standard regenerative braking and generate more electricity for the battery pack.

Legendary Jeep 4x4 capability
The Jeep Grand Cherokee delivers unrivaled capability along with composed on-road driving dynamics. That legendary off-road capability begins courtesy of three 4x4 systems – Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II with rear electronic limited slip-differential (eLSD). All three systems are equipped with an active transfer case to improve traction by moving torque to work with the wheel with the most grip.

The class-exclusive Jeep Quadra-Lift air suspension, now with electronic semi-active damping, delivers up to class-leading 11.3 inches (28.7 cm) of ground clearance and 24 inches (61 cm) of water fording. The system automatically adjusts the shock tuning to changing road conditions for enhanced comfort, stability and control, or may be controlled manually with console controls, and features five height settings for optimum ride performance.

The class-leading Selec-Terrain traction management system lets customers choose the on- or off-road setting for optimum 4x4 performance. This feature electronically coordinates 4x4 torque split, braking and handling, steering and suspension systems, throttle control, transmission shift, transfer case, traction control, stability control, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and steering feel.

The Selec-Terrain system offers five available terrain modes (Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand) to provide optimized calibrations for any given driving scenario.

New for the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 is front-axle disconnect. If the vehicle senses that road conditions do not require all-wheel drive, the front-axle disconnect automatically places the Grand Cherokee in two-wheel drive, reducing drag on the driveline and improving fuel economy. Four-wheel drive automatically re-engages when the vehicle senses it is needed.

Grand Cherokee boasts class-leading 7,200-lbs (3265 kg) max towing with the available 5.7-liter V-8 engine.

Trailhawk – the most capable Grand Cherokee
The all-new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk elevates Grand Cherokee’s 4x4 capability even further.

The new Trailhawk features standard all-terrain tires, integrated off-road camera, Quadra-Lift air suspension with up to 11.3 inches (28.7cm) of ground clearance, improved approach, departure and breakover angles and the Quadra-Drive II active transfer case with rear eLSD and Selec-Terrain.

The most capable model in the new Grand Cherokee lineup also features:
  • Class-exclusive sway-bar disconnect to allow for improved articulation and traction over rocks and rough terrain
  • Selec-Speed® Control for managing vehicle speed in 4LO while traversing off-road terrain. On steep inclines/declines or when traversing obstacles, Selec-Speed Control automatically applies engine torque and/or brake pressure to maintain a consistent and safe off-roading speed without requiring the driver to control the throttle or the brake
  • High-strength steel skid plates
  • Red tow hooks
  • 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires
  • Class-leading traction, ground clearance, maneuverability, articulation and increased water fording capability of up to 24 inches (61 cm)
  • Glare-proof black-and-red matte “Trailhawk” hood decal

Award-winning powertrains
In addition to the technologically advanced plug-in hybrid electric powertrain of the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, the 2022 Grand Cherokee lineup offers buyers a choice of two powerful, fuel-efficient and refined engines with proven performance for any driving situation.

Standard is the all-aluminum 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, rated at 293 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. Lauded for its power and refinement, the 60-degree angle between the Pentastar V-6’s cylinder banks make it inherently smooth running, augmented by accessories that bolt directly to the engine block. A seven-time winner of the Wards 10 Best Engines and Propulsion Systems award, the Pentastar V-6 engine is compact, with features such as exhaust manifolds integrated into the cylinder heads. Chain-driven dual overhead camshafts include two-step variable valve lift and variable-valve timing (VVT). This combination quickly tailors the engine output to the demands of the driver for the best balance of performance and fuel economy.

Fuel-saving engine start-stop (ESS) technology is standard on the Pentastar V-6. The ESS system has been upgraded and refined for the Grand Cherokee. Changes include a pressure reserve element in the eight-speed transmission, which provides dedicated transmission fluid to the shift elements at engine restart for a quick launch. Refined powertrain controls and new starter technology minimize early engine restarts from minor movements of the driver’s foot on the brake pedal. Restart noise, vibration and harshness have been reduced via revised controls and switchable engine mounts.

The 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine is rated for a towing capacity of up to 6,200 pounds (2,812 kg) and an estimated class-leading driving range of more than 500 miles. VVT with dual-independent cam phasing enables better fuel efficiency across a wide torque band in the Pentastar V-6 engine. Nearly 90% of the engine’s peak torque is available from 1,800 to 6,400 rpm – an important consideration when towing or hauling.

Buyers who want more power can opt for the award-winning 5.7-liter V-8, rated at 357 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque delivered over a broad power band. The V-8 delivers performance and efficiency with VVT and Fuel Saver Technology (cylinder deactivation). With Fuel Saver Technology, the engine control computer turns off fuel and spark and closes the valves to four of the engine’s cylinders during light-load operation, such as highway cruising, when full power is not needed. The system immediately re-engages the deactivated cylinders when the driver presses on the accelerator pedal. The 5.7-liter V-8 has a class-leading towing capacity of up to 7,200 pounds (3,265 kg).

The Grand Cherokee’s V-8 engine uses cylinder shut-off technology that deactivates four cylinders during light acceleration or cruising situations on the highway. The system is active in an expanded region with respect to the previous generations and is unnoticeable to the driver. It provides V-8 power for acceleration and heavy loads and four-cylinder operation when the torque requirement is less than the maximum available from four cylinders. Depending on the driving scenario, cylinder shutoff can increase fuel economy from 5 to 20 percent. Fuel economy is further enhanced with VVT technology that reduces the engine’s pumping work by closing the intake valve later and by increasing the expansion process of the combustion event. This allows more energy to be transferred to the wheels instead of being lost out of the exhaust as heat. VVT also improves engine breathing, which improves engine efficiency and power.

Each engine mates to the durable, robust TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, which enhances fuel economy and delivers crisp and smooth gear changes. The widespread of gear ratios helps keep the engine rpm in the ideal range for the task – whether it’s cruising on the highway or exploring off-road trails. On-the-fly shift-map changing enables the transmission to quickly adjust its shift strategy to match the driver’s demands based on inputs, such as engine torque changes, hill detection, temperature and longitudinal and lateral acceleration.

New for the 2022 Grand Cherokee 4x4 is front-axle disconnect.

Flexible architecture delivers world-class 4x4 capability, driving dynamics and durability, and first-ever electrified 4xe
The all-new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee is built on an all-new architecture that was mission specific for the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee. It’s a purpose-built, flexible architecture engineered for both three- and two-rows, as well as electrified 4xe capability.

The Grand Cherokee's new unibody construction and chassis facilitate electrification, while three available best-in-class Jeep 4x4 systems (Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II), Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Terrain traction management system instill the entire Grand Cherokee lineup with legendary Jeep capability.

The flexibility of the new architecture allows for two different wheelbases and lengths, as well as electrification. While the two-row Grand Cherokee and three-row Grand Cherokee L share the same overall width of 84.6 inches (215 cm), the two-row Grand Cherokee has a 116.7-inch (296.4 cm) wheelbase compared with the Grand Cherokee L’s 121.7-inch (309 cm) wheelbase, 5.0 inches (12.7 cm) shorter. In overall length the two-row is 193.5 inches (491 cm) compared to the Grand Cherokee L’s 204.9 inches (520.4 cm), an 11.4-inch (28.9 cm) reduction. Without a third row, the fifth-generation two-row package size was optimized to support Jeep capability and 4xe electrification without any customer compromise.

The two-row Grand Cherokee – the most 4x4-capable Grand Cherokee yet – is the second vehicle in this family of capable Jeep SUVs to be built on the new architecture, following the first-ever three-row Grand Cherokee L launched earlier this year. Early in 2022, the third and final phase will begin when the first-ever electrified Grand Cherokee 4xe launches in North America, followed later in the year in global markets.

November 10, 2021 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The Jeep® brand, known for its iconic and legendary 4x4 SUVs for the past 80 years, has been recognized as having the Best SUV Lineup by Newsweek as part of the publication’s annual 2021 Auto Awards competition.

Newsweek awarded the all-new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L with the Best Family SUV award. Unique features and attributes particularly appealing to families were specifically considered during vehicle evaluations. Newsweek staff noted that the Grand Cherokee’s spacious third-row, innovative infotainment system, next-generation technologies and incredible passenger comfort were significant factors that helped the model earn its award.

“The Jeep Grand Cherokee L does more than expand the Grand Cherokee family,” said Eileen Falkenberg-Hull, senior editor of autos for Newsweek. “It elevates the three-row SUV experience, making it possible to transport family members in comfort and style thanks to an outstanding list of standard and available features paired with classic Jeep 4x4 capability.”

The all-new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L continues its legacy as the most awarded SUV ever, now with seating up to seven for the first time ever. The third-row passenger space paired with its ample comfort and convenience appointments gave the Grand Cherokee L the edge in the Newsweek competition. With premium styling and craftsmanship inside and out, the state-of-the-art Jeep Grand Cherokee L features more than 110 advanced safety and security features, including advanced driver-assist systems, 360-degree surround view and night vision cameras. Segment-leading, next-generation technologies include 10-inch digital screens, windshield head-up display, rear-seat monitoring camera, an available premium 19-speaker McIntosh audio system and class-leading USB ports to keep the entire family connected.

As a premium extension of the Jeep brand, the iconic 2022 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer offer the pinnacle of premium SUV interiors, with elegant American style, meticulously crafted finishes and modern-day appointments. The interiors of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are designed to support active customers’ lifestyles, with best-in-class overall passenger volume, total volume, third-row headroom, and second- and third-row legroom, as well as the most cargo volume behind the third row.

“The Wagoneer brand is back, bringing with it a new way to experience full-size three-row SUVs,” Falkenberg-Hull noted. “The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer punch above their price tag weight, delivering the types of features, capability and design that families are seeking. On top of that, both models are incredibly easy to drive.”

The technologically advanced Wagoneer, Newsweek’s Best Full-Size SUV, and Grand Wagoneer, Newsweek’s Best Luxury SUV, offer next-generation innovations, including a rear-seat monitoring camera, windshield head-up display, frameless digital cluster, premium McIntosh audio system, 10.25 front passenger interactive display, Fire TV for Auto and up to 75 inches of total digital screen area.

Wagoneer delivers best-in-class towing capability of up to 10,000 lbs., allowing for almost any toy to be towed while occupants sit comfortably inside, enjoying gracefully integrated advanced technology and connectivity. The Grand Wagoneer sets the benchmark for luxury with its genuine handcrafted Satin American Walnut wood trim, Palermo leather-trimmed seating with quilting and leather-wrapped instrument panel, consoles and door panels with accent stitching.

All three vehicles are equipped with the award-winning Uconnect 5 infotainment system, Stellantis’ most advanced in-car technology with five-times-faster operating speeds, new content and improved customization. The advanced Uconnect 5 system, with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, also offers new convenience and connected services, keeping passengers engaged and informed while drivers keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

During the evaluation process, vehicle features and specifications accounted for 75% of the judging score. The remaining 25% was based on vehicle drive impressions by Newsweek staff. Vehicle scores were averaged to produce a product line score, which determined the overall winners

Jeep’s Fifth-Generation Grand Cherokee Is an X5 Fighter That Climbs Mountains

When I brought up the BMW X5’s suspension during a conversation with a top Jeep engineer (who asked to remain anonymous), his eyes switched to hi-beams.
“I told the team, ‘We don’t stop working until the Grand Cherokee handles better than the BMW,’” he said. A drive in the all-new 2022 Grand Cherokee – this is its fifth generation – and it seems Jeep nailed it. The fifth-generation Grand Cherokee matches (and often bests) the X5’s handling on-road while continuing to offer access to off-grid, off-road adventure and an under-the-radar cool the Germans can’t touch.
No, it doesn’t match the X5M for ultimate road dominance. That thing wears tires the size of Bavarian beer halls.
The spankin’-new Grand Cherokee has been glimpsed before, but this was the first opportunity to drive the SUV untethered to minders. The big news here is that Jeep offers this GC with a three-row variant, expanding the appeal of a vehicle that already dominates its segment. Jeep has sold nearly two-million Grand Cherokees in America since the first-generation “ZJ” bowed in 1993, according to Jeep, and with this move to include three rows, Stellantis anticipates a rosy, profitable future.

But three rows ain’t squat if the new Grand Cherokee can’t deliver owners to backcountry, steakhouse or backcountry steakhouse in comfort and style. This new design maintains that promise for 2022 Grand Cherokee buyers. The look is iterative and cautious (you can’t blame Jeep, given how well the GC sells). It’s also handsome within the GC heritage. More than once on the drive through the ravishing red canyons of Moab, Utah, where Highway 128 traces the wide and muddy Colorado, I waved at a Grand Cherokee driver that I thought was on the press junket. But time after time, there was the confused face of a fourth-gen Grand Cherokee owner flying by.
Not much initially appears new on the Grand Cherokee. But new and improved it is. Jeep strived to maximize outward visibility, adjusting the width of the vehicle’s vertical pillars and lowering its beltline, among other changes (“As an industry we overachieved with the high belt lines and we’re correcting now,” one Stellantis operative explained).
That results in an interior seating position that’s upright and commanding. Adventurers will appreciate that it’s easier to visually position the beast amid off-road obstacles like boulders, tree limbs, rabid pumas, elephants, hyenas, rhinoceroses and free-range chocolate labrador puppies. Commuters will find the GC’s rear passenger-side blind spot has shrunk in traffic making it easier to avoid road hazards, drunken pedestrians, Impalas, Mustangs, Thunderbirds and urban-savvy chocolate labrador puppies.

First up in this GC buffet is the high-end Summit Reserve trim, equipped with the optional 5.7-liter Hemi V8 (the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 is standard) paired to the Stellantis-made under ZF-license “Torqueflite 8” eight-speed automatic. The Summit Reserve’s 21-inch wheels and aesthetic elegance suggest a penchant for road duties, and along the smooth winding highways of Moab, the Summit Reserve’s body control was excellent. The V-8 thurmmed along with plenty of signature Stellantis Corporate Burble (that BRR BRR BRR BRR you get with a Challenger V-8?), with the whole SUV wafting on a cloud of easy torque.
Thanks to its unibody construction, the GC doesn’t suffer the trucklike Wrangler qualities often associated with the ride of a Jeep. That huge moment of inertia that leads to heaving body roll is absent, unlike the lengthy Gladiator and Wrangler Utes. Instead of waiting that half second for the body to take a set against the chassis, the Jeep simply leans in a tad, then the excellent dampers kick in, keeping the GC’s body nearly flat and remarkably controlled through sweepers and low-speed hairpins alike.
The GC’s stiff brake pedal calibration, which leads with a good amount of bite in the first two inches of pedal travel, lends confidence too. Sports car buyers would want linear braking application across the pedal travel, but Grand Cherokee owners will appreciate the immediacy and stiffness; It allows control of the balance of the truck’s balance with minimal effort. It all suits the imperturbable, easygoing competence and confidence of the Grand Cherokee.
And yet this SUV can hustle. At one point in the drive, the route jinked at a right angle to the river bank and shot up a nearby hillside. The endpoint was an overlook which sat miles and hundreds of feet above. Getting there meant climbing roads that had cracked over and filled with tar. Cattle guards crossed the road every few miles. But mostly, the road snaked up the hillside so steep there might have been a chairlift running up alongside it.

As easily as it dispatched the slower, smoother road by the Colorado river, the Grand Cherokee took these tight bends with ease. That meant risking 60 through the many 25 mph hairpins to figure where the Grand Cherokee might get upset. The Jeep's front tires didn't squeal and only the smell of smoking brake pads and gooey tires was cause to slow down.
Halfway up the hill, there was an overlanding rig that needed passing. The V-8 spooled up power quickly and seamless gear changes allowed it to feed in like an opened flood gate. The overlander was soon a spec in the GC’s side mirrors.Who’s hunting switchbacks in a GC for thrills? Almost no one. But there’s such ability here. That’s reassuring, because inevitably there will be a time in every GC’s service life where it will be heading up to a ski hill or down a gnarled grade with 100’ drop to one side. Timidity is not an option then.
In fact, the whole experience feels silken. The GC’s steering rack doesn’t bother with much road feel, but it’s well-weighted and overall calibration is reassuring and precise. No more than 10 or 15 degrees of steering angle was needed on the trip through Moab, even through the tighter corners. Yet, it doesn’t require much effort to keep steering on center. Some combination of masterful calibration and a masterful job by Jeep PR picking smooth roads through spectacularly distracting scenery, surely helped hone this perception.

Then there’s the Grand Cherokee’s most hardcore off-road variant, the Trailhawk. In factory trim, this thing’s off-road prowess is mind-boggling. With professional help guiding the vehicle up what must’ve been a ten-story ascent along a rocky single track at the fringe of Moab’s city limits, it was utterly sure-footed. But at the end of the day it was a group of (mostly) off-road novices in a factory rig, scrambling up tight tracks that’d cause a mountain goat to double over with fatigue. More than once, the GC crowned across a boulder and almighty thunk when the suspension compressed boomed out. No matter how many times that happened, the Jeep kept going. Damage? Can-opener’d bodywork? Filet of tire? Cracked suspension? Nope. There were only a couple dusty marks that wiped off easily on a shirt sleeve. This is a tough rig.
While flat-out impressive, there’s a narrower use case for the Trailhawk. Though it’s reassuring that a vehicle this capable shares a huge chunk of its DNA with more road-focused GCs there is compromise in daily duty chores. That in mind, it’s not a disqualifying discomfort. On Moab’s city surface roads, there was some penalty in refinement with the Trailhawk’s knobby off-road tires. Plenty of owners with off-road aspirations and realistic trade-off expectations will daily this rig. Even if the truck’s off-road remit only casually overlaps with actual needs.
On the road, six-cylinder GCs ride and drive mostly the same as the V-8 cars, maybe with a touch more roll. Likely because the six-cylinder Grand Cherokee in “Overland” trim rides on more sidewall with its 18-inch wheels and 265/60-section tires.
The torque and engine response is muted with the six-cylinder, but many V-6 GC pilots will be content with the better gas mileage. Obviously, if there’s a boat to be tugged, the V-8 is preferable. Actually, if fuel mileage isn’t a concern, the V-8 is always the killer app here. Gets the 21-inch wheels too, if style matters and squishing over dry creek beds doesn’t.

The six-cylinder’s competence inspires curiosity about the forthcoming Grand Cherokee hybrid, called the 4xe powertrain, which will downsize to a 2.0-liter turbocharged mill paired to two electric motors. That could be the Goldilocks combo: better torque response from the motors than even the V-8 can offer, paired with the efficiency rewards from a hybrid system. Plus the Grand Cherokee’s new platform, which underpins every trim level, was designed with the hybrid in mind, so you’ll sacrifice no cargo or comfort to accommodate the powertrain.
The GC’s drivetrain options all have their advantages and their availability means excellent opportunity to tailor the vehicle to a buyer’s preference. The six-cylinder Grand Cherokees receive the same refined, straightforward interior treatment as the V-8 models. And the 4xe will be available on the Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve trim levels. The hybrid and V-6 options aren’t cut-rate penalty boxes.
The GC's interior feels intelligently considered, with physical switches for the important stuff, and less important functions left to large digital buttons on the main center display. While the interior doesn’t scream “premium luxury” in the way an Audi Q5 or Volvo XC60 does, Jeep has placed the Grand Cherokee in a valley between its domestic competitors and lux-obsessed SUVs from the Continent.
Because Jeep weren’t swinging for the cutting-edge take on luxury like you’d find in a Model Y, or even the screen-centric ideas we see in Stellantis’s own RAM pickups. There’s a far more restrained take on luxury appointments in the Grand Cherokee, which will suit the clientele. The materials throughout look and feel quite nice. There are strips of open-pore wood laid in streaks across the interior (for some trims), and plenty of glass and leather throughout.
Another nice touch: all the driver’s aid on/off switches are physical buttons. The lane departure warning, traction control, hazards, parking sensor, steering assist, and screen-off buttons are laid in a row above the top above the console’s main screen. So many cars hide those options behind fifteen layers of digital menus or down below the steering wheel, out of sight.

Elsewhere, the Summit Reserve's copper contrasting stitching (available in other trims) isn’t exciting, but there’s plenty of it – on the steering wheel, across the top of the dash, under the “blade” element that runs the width of the dash, on the door panels, and all over the seats.
The seats feel great, with wide shoulders and decent support. This isn’t an interior to make you feel especially coddled or luxuriant, but it’s high quality and thoughtful. It’s also whispered innuendo quiet at interstate speeds (a true marker of luxury), which counts far more than components that only add visual flair.
Whichever trim, spring for the fancy sound system put together by McIntosh (19 speakers, a 10-inch sub, 950 watts, and a 17-channel amp). The system sounds equally well calibrated for Sirius XM or the hi-fi files on a smartphone. On Concrete Blonde’s “Joey”, the system revealed harder drum hits and a more driving bassline than expected, punching out the tune in a lively, heavy way. Johnette Napolitano’s crooning vocals dripped with just as much heartbreak as I’ve heard from the track on my own home hi-fi system. Paired with an interior this quiet, there’s plenty of sound space in the Grand Cherokee’s interior to really revel in what McIntosh achieved here.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee will start at $37,390 for rear-drive models and $39,390 for 4x4s. On those lower trims (there will be five total, from Laredo to Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, and Summit), that’s absolutely fantastic value. What else is this capable at that price? Maybe the increasingly archaic 4Runner, but that Toyota interior treats its occupants with far less respect. None of the Grand Cherokee’s domestic competitors feel as luxurious and well-considered.
Even up through my personal preferred trim (Overland, 4x4, and of course that V-8), you’ve got a $61,000 SUV that will get you anywhere in absolute style and comfort. For many Americans, the Grand Cherokee is absolutely the kind of statement piece they're trying to drive from the office to the ski hill, some wondrous and perfect mix of modesty, absolute competence, and a quiet grandeur.
Complaints? Nothing major. Taller drivers won’t be able to get the HUD display low enough to view it without obstruction. Also there’s… well… there isn’t one in my driveway right now, and that’s a complaint.

The all-new 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe electrifies Grand Cherokee and aligns with the Jeep brand’s electrified mission of “Zero Emission Freedom.”

The 4xe PHEV technology enhances the fun, freedom, adventure and 4x4 leadership capability that the Jeep brand is known for, while providing unprecedented performance, fuel economy and environmental friendliness:
  • 25 miles (40 km) of all-electric range and 56 MPGe
  • Quadra Trac II 4x4 system with two-speed transfer case and 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio
  • 47.4:1 crawl ratio
  • 6,000-lbs (2,720 kg) 4xe max towing capability
  • 375 hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque
The 4xe propulsion system combines two electric motors, a 400-volt battery pack, 2.0-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine and TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for maximum efficiency and capability. Overall, the 4xe system delivers 375 horsepower (280 kW) and 470 lb.-ft. (637 N•m) of torque.

The fuel-efficient 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine is part of Stellantis’s Global Medium Engine family. The high-tech, direct-injection engine uses a twin-scroll, low-inertia turbocharger mounted directly to the cylinder head. Efficiency is enhanced via the use of electric power steering and an electrically driven air-conditioning compressor, removing those loads from the engine.

2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe
The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe model starts at a U.S. MSRP of $57,700 and comes standard with the class-leading Selec-Terrain traction management system, which offers five available terrain modes (Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand) to provide optimized calibrations for any given driving scenario.

The 4xe model’s sophisticated interior features standard Capri leather seats and several premium convenience features, including 10.25-inch front passenger interactive display, Uconnect 5 navigation with 10.1-inch touchscreen, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, power eight-way driver seat with memory, power four-way driver/front-passenger lumbar adjuster with memory, heated steering wheel, heated seats in the first and second rows with three-level configurable controls for personalized passenger comfort, 506-watt nine-speaker Alpine audio system and single-color ambient interior lighting for the instrument panel and front and rear doors.

Other standard convenience features include remote start, universal garage door opener and a new adjustable height power liftgate.

2022 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe model adds to the many standard features of the 4xe model and starts at a U.S. MSRP of $62,485.

The most off-road capable of the Grand Cherokee 4xe lineup, the Trailhawk model comes standard with low-range Selec-Speed Control (autonomous off-road driving assist) with sand and snow recovery; Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system featuring an active electronic 2-speed transfer case with low range, 47.4:1 crawl ratio and rear eLSD that can send 100% of torque to one rear wheel for maximum 4x4 performance; Selec-Terrain System with five settings: Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand; Quadra-Lift air suspension with semi-active damping delivering 4.7 inches of travel, 10.9 inches of ground clearance, 24 inches of water fording capability and a break-over angle of 22.3 degrees; skid plates; blue tow hooks (with 10,000-lb capacity); Jeep Off-road Pages and class-exclusive sway bar disconnect, which allows for improved articulation and traction over rocks and rough terrain.

Standard exterior features include unique 18-inch aluminum wheels with 265/60R18 Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires, unique front and rear fascias delivering best-in-class approach (36 degrees) and departure (30 degrees) angles, anti-glare Trailhawk hood decal, a black-painted roof with black-accent roof-rack rails with 150-lb capacity, Trailer-Tow Package with Class IV receiver hitch, automatic power-folding heated exterior mirrors with memory, power liftgate and 360-degree surround view camera system with washer and integrated off-road camera.

2022 Grand Cherokee Overland 4xe
Built for both on- and off-road adventures, the Grand Cherokee Overland 4xe model has a starting U.S. MSRP of $65,760.

The Overland 4xe features Jeep’s Quadra-Trac II system, which adjusts torque distribution and will continue to reactively make corrections if tire slip occurs. When wheel slippage is detected, as much as 100% of available torque is instantly routed to the axle with the most traction. When equipped with the available Off-Road Group, the Trail Rated Overland 4xe model adds the Quadra-Drive II system, high-strength steel skid plates, electronic limited slip differential rear axle, 18-inch aluminum wheels and rugged, all-terrain tires. The Selec-Terrain system and Hill-descent Control, which works both in forward and reverse, are standard on Overland.

Building on Grand Cherokee’s legacy as the most awarded SUV ever, the all-new 4xe brings an all-new architecture, new plug-in hybrid powertrain, all-new exterior design, and all-new interior with world-class craftsmanship and first-to-market technologies to the full-size SUV segment. The all-new electrified Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe joins the Grand Cherokee and the three-row Grand Cherokee L in the expanded Grand Cherokee lineup.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is designed and engineered to deliver even more of what has made the Grand Cherokee a true global icon in the premium SUV segment, including legendary Jeep 4x4 capability, class-leading space and versatility and advanced safety features. The Grand Cherokee 4xe’s E Selec modes – Hybrid, Electric and eSave – allow the 4xe driver to tailor the hybrid powertrain to best suit each trip, whether it be commuting, off-roading or long-distance travel.

New for 2023:
  • Trailhawk model is exclusively available on Grand Cherokee 4xe
  • Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe gets standard Gloss Black exterior accents (replace Neutral Gray exterior accents)
Highlights:
  • The Grand Cherokee’s 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicle technology enhances the fun, freedom and adventure that the Jeep brand is known for, while providing unprecedented performance, fuel economy and environmental friendliness:
    • 25 miles (40 km) of all-electric range and 56 MPGe
    • 375 hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque
    • Quadra Trac II 4x4 system with two-speed transfer case and 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio
    • 47.4:1 crawl ratio
    • 6,000-lbs. (2,720 kg) 4xe max towing capability
    • Blue tow hooks
    • Trail Rated Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe delivers up to 10.9 inches (28.7 cm) of ground clearance and 24 inches (61 cm) of water fording
  • New for 2023, the Grand Cherokee 4xe exclusively offers the Trailhawk model, which combines 25 miles (40 km) of all-electric Zero Emission Freedom and 56 MPGe with Grand Cherokee Trailhawk’s legendary 4x4 capability. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe conquered the formidable Rubicon Trail and did so under all-electric power using Electric mode:
    • Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system with two-speed transfer case and 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio
    • Rear electronic limited slip differential (eLSD)
    • Selec-Terrain traction management system
    • Selec-Speed Control
    • 10.9 inches (27.8 cm) of ground clearance
    • 24 inches (61 cm) of water-fording capability
    • 47.4:1 crawl ratio
    • 25 miles (40 km) of all-electric range and 56 MPGe
    • Blue tow hooks
    • Blue-accented 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires
    • Glare-proof black-and-blue matte “Trailhawk” hood decal
  • The available High Altitude Package adds premium 21-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels, Gloss Black accents and badging, roof rails and a unique seven-slot grille to the already well-appointed Grand Cherokee Summit and Summit Reserve 4xe models
  • Grand Cherokee’s 4xe propulsion system combines two electric motors, a 400-volt battery pack, 2.0-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine and TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for maximum efficiency and capability
  • The fuel-efficient 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine is part of Stellantis’s Global Medium Engine family. The high-tech, direct-injection engine uses a twin-scroll, low-inertia turbocharger mounted directly to the cylinder head. Efficiency is enhanced via the use of electric power steering and an electrically driven air-conditioning compressor, removing those loads from the engine
  • With E Selec modes, the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe driver can tailor the hybrid powertrain to best suit each trip, whether it be commuting, off-roading or long-distance travel:
    • Hybrid: Blends torque from the electric motor and gas engine. The powertrain will optimize battery and engine power to deliver the best combination of fuel efficiency and performance
    • Electric: Operates on zero-emission electric power only until the battery reaches the minimum charge or the driver requests more torque (such as wide-open throttle), which engages the engine
    • eSave: Prioritizes the engine, saving the battery charge for later use. The driver can also choose between Battery Save and Battery Charge during eSave via the Hybrid Electric Pages in the Uconnect 5 screen
  • The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe carries a 400-volt, 17-kWh EV battery. The battery units and controls mount underneath the vehicle, packaged under the floor and protected by a series of skid plates
  • The battery pack system includes a dedicated heating and cooling circuit to keep the battery at its optimum temperature for best performance. The system includes a dedicated heater unit and a chiller that uses the Grand Cherokee’s air-conditioning refrigerant to reduce coolant temperature when needed
  • The Grand Cherokee’s 4xe system also includes an Integrated Dual Charging Module (IDCM) that combines a battery charger and a DC/DC converter in a single, compact unit and a Power Inverter Module (PIM) that is reduced in size. These are mounted under the body and protected with steel shields
  • All high-voltage electronics are sealed and waterproof. The Trail Rated Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is capable of water fording up to 24 inches (61 cm)
  • The charge port is beneath a push-open/push-close cover on the left front fender for convenient nose-in parking at charging locations. The charge port includes LED indicators of charging status. An LED battery level monitor sits on top of the instrument panel, making it easy to check the state of the battery charge at a glance
  • The driver information display and main Uconnect touchscreen include Eco Coaching Pages. The Eco Coaching Pages let owners monitor power flow and see the impact of regenerative braking, as well as view their driving history with a detail of electric and gasoline usage
  • Regenerative braking is part of the 4xe system. When the driver steps on the brake pedal, the powertrain control engages the maximum available regenerative braking, up to 0.25 g, from the electric motors to slow the vehicle, augmented with the Grand Cherokee 4xe’s traditional friction brakes
  • With 4x4 engaged, all four wheels feed torque for regenerative braking, maximizing the energy recovery. Electricity from regenerative braking is fed to the battery pack to maintain or increase the state of charge
  • A driver-selectable Max Regen feature deploys a more assertive regenerative braking calibration when the vehicle sees zero throttle input from the driver (coasting). Max Regen can slow the Grand Cherokee 4xe faster than standard regenerative braking and generate more electricity for the battery pack
  • The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe delivers unrivaled capability along with composed on-road driving dynamics. That legendary off-road capability begins courtesy of two 4x4 systems – Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II with rear electronic limited slip differential (eLSD). Both systems are equipped with an active transfer case to improve traction by moving torque to work with the wheel with the most grip
  • The class-exclusive Jeep Quadra-Lift™ air suspension, now with electronic semi-active damping, delivers up to 10.9 inches (28.7 cm) of ground clearance and 24 inches (61 cm) of water fording. The system automatically adjusts the shock tuning to changing road conditions for enhanced comfort, stability and control, or may be controlled manually with console controls, and features five height settings for optimum ride performance
  • The class-leading Selec-Terrain™ traction management system lets customers choose the on- or off-road setting for optimum 4x4 performance. This feature electronically coordinates 4x4 torque split, braking and handling, steering and suspension systems, throttle control, transmission shift, transfer case, traction control, stability control, antilock brake system (ABS) and steering feel
  • The Selec-Terrain system offers five available terrain modes (Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand) to provide optimized calibrations for any given driving scenario
  • Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe features front axle disconnect. If the vehicle senses that road conditions do not require all-wheel drive, the front-axle disconnect automatically places the Grand Cherokee in two-wheel drive, reducing drag on the driveline and improving fuel economy. Four-wheel drive automatically re-engages when the vehicle senses it is needed
  • A lowered, tapered roof improves the Grand Cherokee 4xe’s aerodynamic performance and efficiency without sacrificing cargo spaciousness and utility, while the lowered beltline and expansive glass allow more light into the cabin and increase outward visibility
  • A wider and larger iconic seven-slot grille and front fascia conceals a long-range radar and other advanced technology features. An elongated, level-set hood and bold headfirst stance deliver visual strength and the aerodynamic body style allows for design flexibility, improved fit and finish
  • Active grille shutters, front wheel spats, air curtains, hood aero flick, lowered roof line (10mm decrease) and rear vertical-pillar spoilers improve on-road performance and fuel efficiency
  • A Gloss Black roof is available for the first time on the Overland models and comes standard on Trailhawk, Summit and Summit Reserve
  • The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe’s luxurious, next-generation interior has evolved to feature handcrafted materials and modern amenities
    • The front panel features slim HVAC vents, a re-aligned center stack for greater driver accessibility and 10.1-inch (25.6 cm) digital screens (digital cluster and touchscreen radio), as well as segment-first available 10.25-inch (26 cm) front passenger interactive display and a high-definition rear-seat entertainment system with Amazon Fire TV built-in.
    • The Jeep seating architecture features a length adjustable cushion for the front-row passengers. The 16-way adjustable front seats have power lumbar and memory, and higher specification versions offer driver and front passenger seat back massage. Heated/vented seats are available in first two rows, with three-level configurable controls
    • The center console layout can hold two wireless devices and a wireless charger
    • Premium, full suite of customizable LED lighting with daytime/nighttime settings is standard on all trim levels for Grand Cherokee 4xe, and true ambient lighting with a five-color selection is available on Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve models
  • The state-of-the-art Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe ushers in an array of more than 110 advanced safety and security features, including innovative applications of technologies that refine the connection between driver, vehicle and the road. Standard safety features across the lineup include:

What's New for 2023: Jeep® Grand Cherokee

June 30, 2022 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - From the moment the Jeep® brand introduced the Grand Cherokee 30 years ago, by literally driving the SUV up the steps of Cobo Hall in Detroit and through a window, signifying the breakthrough premium SUV, it set a new industry benchmark and quickly became synonymous with upscale design and uncompromised capability.

Today, the Grand Cherokee lineup is extended to an entire family of vehicles, including new three-row Grand Cherokee L, the Grand Cherokee and the electrified Grand Cherokee 4xe, which delivers 56 MPGe and 25 miles all-electric range. This fifth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee builds on its legacy as the most awarded SUV ever, built on an all-new architecture, new plug-in hybrid powertrain (Grand Cherokee 4xe), all-new exterior design, and all-new interior with world-class craftsmanship and first-to-market technologies to the full-size SUV segment.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has been designed and engineered to deliver even more of what has made the Grand Cherokee a true global icon in the premium SUV segment, including legendary capability, class-leading space and versatility and advanced safety features.

New for 2023:
  • Grand Cherokee Trailhawk now available exclusively with 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain
  • Uconnect 5 NAV with 10.1-in. digital touchscreen standard on Limited and Overland models
  • Nine-speaker Alpine audio system available as standalone option on Limited model
  • 19-speaker McIntosh audio system available as standalone option on Overland and Summit models
Highlights:
  • Grand Cherokee’s all-new architecture and sculpted aerodynamic body style combine to improve vehicle performance, safety and reliability, while significantly reducing vehicle weight, noise, vibration and harshness. Designed to maximize overall passenger safety, comfort and convenience, Grand Cherokee packs a powerful punch with next-generation features and technologies that make it a stand out in the full-size SUV segment
  • The Jeep Grand Cherokee delivers unrivaled capability along with composed on-road driving dynamics. That legendary off-road capability begins courtesy of three 4x4 systems – Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II with rear electronic limited slip differential (ELSD). All three systems are equipped with an active transfer case to improve traction by moving torque to work with the wheel with the most grip
  • The class-exclusive Jeep Quadra-Lift air suspension, now with electronic semi-active damping, delivers up to 10.9 inches (27.7 cm) of ground clearance and 24 inches (61 cm) of water fording. The system automatically adjusts the shock tuning to changing road conditions for enhanced comfort, stability and control, or may be controlled manually with console controls, and features five height settings for optimum ride performance

This feature electronically coordinates 4x4 torque split, braking and handling, steering and suspension systems, throttle control, transmission shift, transfer case, traction control, stability control, antilock brake system (ABS) and steering feel
  • The Selec-Terrain system offers five available terrain modes (Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand) to provide optimized calibrations for any given driving scenario
  • Front-axle disconnect automatically places the Grand Cherokee in two-wheel drive, if the vehicle senses that road conditions do not require all-wheel drive. • Grand Cherokee boasts class-leading 7,200-lbs (3265 kg) max towing with the available 5.7-liter V-8
  • Standard all-aluminum 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, rated at 293 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. Lauded for its power and refinement, the 60-degree angle between the Pentastar V-6’s cylinder banks make it inherently smooth running, augmented by accessories that bolt directly to the engine block. A seven-time winner of the Wards 10 Best Engines and Propulsion Systems award, the Pentastar V-6 engine is compact, with features such as exhaust manifolds integrated into the cylinder heads
  • The 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine is rated for a towing capacity of up to 6,200 pounds (2,812 kg) and an estimated class-leading driving range of more than 500 miles
  • Award-winning 5.7-liter V-8, rated at 357 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque delivered over a broad power band, delivers performance and efficiency with VVT and Fuel Saver Technology (cylinder deactivation). With Fuel Saver Technology, the engine control computer turns off fuel and spark and closes the valves to four of the engine’s cylinders during light-load operation, such as highway cruising, when full power is not needed. The system immediately re-engages the deactivated cylinders when the driver presses on the accelerator pedal
  • The 5.7-liter V-8 has a class-leading towing capacity of up to 7,200 pounds (3,265 kg)
  • The Grand Cherokee 4xe delivers 56 MPGe and 25 miles all-electric range. The propulsion system combines two electric motors, a 400-volt battery pack, 2.0-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine and TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for maximum efficiency and capability
  • Each engine mates to the durable, robust TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, which enhances fuel economy and delivers crisp and smooth gear changes. The widespread of gear ratios helps keep the engine rpm in the ideal range for the task – whether it’s cruising on the highway or exploring off-road trails. On-the-fly shift-map changing enables the transmission to quickly adjust its shift strategy to match the driver’s demands based on inputs, such as engine torque changes, hill detection, temperature and longitudinal and lateral acceleration
  • The Jeep Grand Cherokee is built on an all-new architecture that was mission specific for the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee. It’s a purpose-built, flexible architecture engineered for three rows and two rows, as well as electrified 4xe capability
  • A lowered, tapered roof improves the Grand Cherokee’s aerodynamic performance and efficiency without sacrificing cargo spaciousness and utility, while the lowered beltline and expansive glass allow more light into the cabin and increase outward visibility

It's been 30 years and five generations since the debut of the original Jeep Grand Cherokee, which crashed its way into the halls of the 1992 Detroit auto show, driven by none other than Bob Lutz.

At this year's show, which started Wednesday and runs until Sept. 25, Jeep marked the milestone with the reveal of a special 30th Anniversary Edition package for the 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid.

The package adds styling treatments like black body accents, black 20-inch wheels, unique badging, and body color-matched rear fascia, lower moldings, rocker panels, and fender flares. There's also extra equipment including a dual-tip exhaust, a dual-pane sunroof, Capri leather trim, cooled front seats, a 9-speaker Alpine audio system, a wireless charging pad for mobile devices, a digital rearview mirror, a surround-view camera system, parking sensors, and a 10.1-inch infotainment screen with 3D graphics for the navigation, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

The powertrain of the Grand Cherokee 4xe consists of a 2.0-liter turbo-4 and electric motor up front, plus a second electric motor integrated with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The system delivers a peak 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, as well as 25 miles of pure electric range, and max towing of 6,000 lb. The vehicle also comes standard with a 2-speed transfer case, 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio, and 47.4:1 crawl ratio.

Order books for the 2023 Grand Cherokee with the 30th Anniversary Edition package open later this year, with deliveries scheduled to begin in early 2023. The package will be available for a limited time and is priced at $4,700. Jeep hasn't announced pricing for the 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe, but the current 2022 model starts at $59,495, including a $1,795 destination charge.

Production of the Grand Cherokee is handled at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, with the stretched Grand Cherokee L handled at the neighboring Mack Avenue Assembly Complex plant. More than seven million examples of the nameplate have been built over the past three decades.
