Does anyone know when the R/T Versions will be hitting the dealer lots?
I'm wanting to try out the new 4.0L engines. I've read some good things about them, especially being way more refined than the 3.7L. I'm looking for a silky power band with a good exhaust note. I'm familiar with on how some of these older engines feel, I hate the course rough feeling engines that run out of breath before it even gets close the shift point at wide open throttle. So I'm considering the Nitro only with the 4.0L engine.
"It is one of the quietest engines of its size in the market". Quoted by Allpar.
I've notice it has twice the valves for better air flow & a variable intake for low and high rpm power output. It produces a good 45-50hp & 40-45tq more!
It's peak power is at 5800 rpm with a 5800 rpm redline. Now the 3.7L only makes 210hp at 5200 rpm while redlines at 6000 rpm, so it might only be making 170-180hp at 5800 rpm compared to the 255-260hp 4.0L. That could be a max of 80hp difference for passing! I wouldn't mind a 6-speed stick with the 4.0L! Force induction would be nice. But the auto will do. I can't wait to order one if the 4.0L test drive goes well when I do find one. I get a Dodge discount, 24k for a 4.0L 4x2 Black R/T Woohoo.
