Fiat Officially Announce Details of the Facelifted Punto Evo

TURIN – August 31, 2009: The Fiat Punto Evo, the evolution of the Grande Punto, will make its debut at the next Frankfurt Motor Show. It aims to repeat the success of its predecessor and become the new pacesetter for innovation, safety and style, thanks to its many innovative features. The epithet “Evo” identifies a level of car design that is capable of satisfying even the most demanding customers in terms of technology, driving pleasure and respect for the environment.

The Punto Evo expresses its technical excellence first and foremost through a wide choice of Euro 5 engines, including a 1.3 second generation Multijet diesel and a 1.4 petrol engine with the revolutionary MultiAir technology developed by Fiat Powertrain Technologies and eventually to be incorporated in all Fiat Group engines. Fiat’s innovative and conventional powerplants are also joined by dual-fuel methane and petrol units to create the most complete and ecological range of engines in the segment. With reduced consumption and emissions in mind, the new Punto Evo also offers Start&Stop, the system that switches off and restarts the engine in stop-and-go traffic. Start&Stop is being introduced as standard on all Euro5 petrol and diesel engines. Another system making its first appearance on the Punto Evo is “Blue&Me–TomTom”, the new portable satellite navigation unit that lets you manage telephone, navigation and information functions on a practical colour touch-screen.

In the area of safety, the Punto Evo sets new standards thanks to 7 airbags, including a driver knee airbag. The Punto Evo is one of very few cars in its segment with a driver knee airbag fitted as standard on all versions. Other innovative safety systems are also available, including Hill-Holder to help with hill starts, adaptive 'cornering' front fog lights that switch on automatically with dipped headlights according to the angle of steering, and Fiat’s tried and tested ABS, EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution) and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) systems.

Finally, the new Punto Evo is even more attractive thanks to the work of Fiat’s Centro Stile. The interiors (fascia, seats and instrumentation) have been completely renewed to become even more prestigious and elegant, and the outside has been given a thoroughly restyled look too. The Fiat Punto Evo goes on sale in the second half of October with the precise objective of consolidating its role as one of Europe’s market leaders in the highly important compact segment.

Technical innovation
The Punto Evo expresses its technical excellence first and foremost through a wide choice of engines Euro 5, including petrol units equipped with the revolutionary MultiAir system and second generation Multijet diesels. Developed and patented by FPT – Fiat Powertrain Technologies – MultiAir technology will gradually be adopted by all engines fitted to Fiat Group cars. The heart of MultiAir is a new electrohydraulic valve management system that reduces fuel consumption by controlling air directly via the inlet valves (without using the throttle). MultiAir reduces emissions (thanks to improved combustion control) and also improves performance by boosting both power and torque.

Similar results have been achieved in diesel versions thanks to the adoption of second generation Multijet units across the range. These engines incorporate new common rail injectors that, thanks to a balanced hydraulic servo-valve, control the quantity of fuel injected into the combustion chamber with improved precision, and in a faster and more flexible sequence than in the past. The choice of engines available for the Punto Evo is the most complete and ecological in this market segment, and even includes two alternative fuel engines, a methane and an LPG unit.

The new Punto Evo is even equipped with the latest version of the Blue&Me system. “Blue&Me–TomTom” is a fully integrated infotainment system that lets you manage telephone, navigation and information functions on a practical colour touch-screen. The system is the result of a partnership between Fiat Group Automobiles and TomTom, European leader in portable navigation systems, and integrates with the car’s other systems thanks to the Blue&Me system developed in conjunction with Magneti Marelli. The new system also incorporates “eco:Drive Info” for real time information on your driving style and useful suggestions for reducing environmental impact and optimising consumption by changing gear and using the accelerator to suit the nature of the route.

Respect for the environment
At Fiat, innovation means greater respect for the environment too. In fact, the environment is one of the main issues driving product development, and ensures that the Fiat range is the greenest in Europe. The Punto Evo is no exception to this rule. The new MultiAir engines prove the point. Compared to a conventional petrol engine of the same size, a MultiAir engine develops more power (up to 10%) and torque (up to 15%), while consuming significantly less (up to 10%) and emitting less CO2 (up to 10%), less particulates (up to 40%) and less NOx (up to 60%).

In the same way the second generation of Multijet diesel engines also offers more accurate combustion, with benefits for consumption, emissions, NVH and drivability. This has been achieved through a new common rail injector that modulates fuel injection into the combustion chamber and gives, for the Euro 5 engines, an improvement of around 2% in consumption and CO2 emissions on the homologation cycle, and a reduction in NOx emissions of up to 30%. Still with reduced consumption and emissions in mind, the new Punto Evo will also offer Start&Stop, the system that switches off the engine when you stop and restarts it for you to move off again (at traffic lights for example). Start&Stop will be standard on all Euro5 petrol and diesel engines.

The methane-fuelled engine is not only the most ecological dual fuel engine in segment B, producing only 115 g/km of CO2, but is also the most economical thanks to record running costs of under 4 Euros per 100 km. Among other advantages, methane-fuelled engines benefit from the highest government incentives in Italy: 5,000 Euros if combined with a contribution for scrapping your old car. Then there is the LPG-fuelled version, developed using Fiat’s longstanding experience in alternative fuels to respond to the extraordinary growth seen in this market. The Punto Evo GPL boasts record autonomy of 1,500 km in the extra-urban cycle, and running costs up to 50% lower than a petrol equivalent.

Safety
The Punto Evo is designed and built to achieve the highest levels of safety. The model boasts a large number of safety systems (standard or optional depending on market and version) starting from those dedicated to passive safety: 2 front airbags, 2 front side airbags, 2 window bags and a driver knee airbag (the Punto Evo is one of the few cars in this segment on which this device is standard on all versions). The Punto Evo is also one of the few cars in its class equipped with adaptive 'cornering' front fog lights that switch on automatically with dipped headlights according to the angle of steering. And don’t forget that the new Punto Evo also guarantees constant and reliable road holding thanks to electronic dynamic control systems for braking and steering. The ABS system that is available across the complete engine range incorporates EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution), ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and Hill-holder to help with hill-starts.

Style and comfort
The Punto Evo is more stunning than ever thanks to the work of Fiat’s Centro Stile. In particular, the interiors of the new model have been completely redesigned to represent the most evolved expression of Italian style, with top quality materials and superb attention to detail. The result is a bright and elegant cabin with completely renewed fascia, seats, storage compartments and instrumentation. On the outside, both the front and the rear have been thoroughly restyled, as shown by the attractive lines of the new bumpers and the incorporation of innovative and original headlights and taillights. The latest design has also “stretched” the car to a total length of 406 centimetres, so that its winning characteristics of driver and passenger comfort remain unchanged. The other external dimensions remain the same, with a width of 169 cm, a height of 149 cm and a wheelbase of 251 cm.

FCA axes Alfa Romeo’s planned sports cars as it shrinks the brand

11/11/19

MILAN – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is scaling down growth plans for Alfa Romeo, with two planned Alfa sports cars and a large SUV axed, and the Giuletta hatchback be dropped from its lineup.

After Alfa discontinued the slow-selling Mito small hatchback and low production 4C coupe and roadster, the brand’s lineup currently comprises three cars – the Giulia midsize sedan, Stelvio midsize SUV and the Giuletta compact hatchback.

FCA’s revised plan for Alfa means that a 700-plus hp 8C coupe and a 600-plus hp sports sedan that were intended to reboot the brand will not be built.

The Giulietta, which went on sale in 2010, could be discontinued as soon as next year, according to union sources in Italy.

Also axed are long wheel-base versions of the Giulia and Stelvio planned for the Chinese market.

In future Alfa will have four models – the Giulia, the Stelvio, a new compact SUV and a new small SUV (see chart below).

The Giula and Stelvio will get a mid-cycle freshening in 2021, according to a chart shown to analysts. The compact SUV will launch in 2021 and the small SUV in 2022.

Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN C39 Unveiled in Barcelona

February 19, 2020 , Barcelona - Sauber Motorsport AG, which manages and operates the Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN team in the Formula One world championship, unveiled its 2020 contender, the C39, before the start of winter testing in Barcelona. The reveal of the car completes the grid, with Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN being the final team to launch its livery ahead of the new season.

Race drivers Kimi Räikkönen and Antonio Giovinazzi, alongside reserve driver Robert Kubica and development driver Tatiana Calderon, pulled the covers off the C39 during a roll-out presentation in the pit lane at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The 2020 livery marks a further step forward over previous years, continuing with the themes and layout of the classic Alfa Romeo racing colors, but at the same time introducing an all-new look in terms of graphic effects. The theme of this new paintwork developed by Centro Stile is the “Speed-Pixel,” a graphic evocation of speed and time in the year of the brand’s 110th anniversary, something that also reflects the car’s advanced technology.

Compared to previous years, there is also a return to a simplified Quadrifoglio design and an enlarged Alfa Romeo script on the engine cover, which is now overlapping the main logo. Taking pride of place as always is Alfa Romeo’s iconic symbol that combines the cross from the city of Milan's ancient crest and the “Biscione” of the Visconti family, representing 110 years of glory and victories while looking to the future at the same time.

Designed and developed under the coordination of Technical Director Jan Monchaux, the C39 bears only a passing resemblance to its predecessor; it is, instead, a completely new concept aimed at helping the team build on the strong strides made in the last two years and continuing its progress toward the front of the grid.

The focus now switches to the crucial two weeks of testing in Barcelona. With just six days of on-track action ahead of the season opener in Melbourne, Australia, every hour of activity in Catalonia will be key to understanding the new car and extracting its potential.

For the time being, though, we can enjoy the looks of the Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN C39. It really brings truth to the old adage of saving the best for last.

Frédéric Vasseur, Team Principal Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN and CEO Sauber Motorsport AG: “The C39 is the result of the hard work and vision of a large group of highly committed individuals and is a testament to the quality of everyone on our team. We hope it will help us move the team forward to achieve our objectives. Our target hasn’t changed. We want to do a better job tomorrow than we did today. We are a growing team and still have to improve in every single area and every single department of the company. This is an open-ended project. There is no finish line – everyone has to be fully focused and dedicated. We are moving forward. We already took a huge step compared to where we were at the beginning of 2018, but we have to continue on this path.”

Jan Monchaux, Technical Director Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN: “The C39 is a natural evolution of last year’s car, even though it doesn’t share a lot with its predecessor. We have been further improving our car, but apart from maybe rims and tires and some internal components, there is barely a single visible part that is the same. It’s the usual process of constant improvement, but it’s a brand new beast. We expect to improve on what we achieved last season, to make a step forward and hopefully be able to fight for the position at the top of the midfield.”
Sauber Group of Companies
The Sauber Group of Companies is composed of three entities – Sauber Motorsport AG, which operates the Formula One team; Sauber Engineering AG, which focuses on prototype development and additive manufacturing; and Sauber Aerodynamik AG, which conducts full- and model-scale testing in the factory’s state-of-the-art wind tunnel and creates ground-breaking innovations in the field of aerodynamics. The companies collaborate closely to apply the expertise of more than 500 dedicated individuals at the headquarters in Hinwil, Switzerland, to all internal and external projects. Since its founding in 1970, the passion for racing has been at the heart of Sauber.

For more than 45 years, the innovative Swiss company has been setting standards in the design, development and construction of race cars for various championship series, such as Formula One, DTM and WEC. Following its own Formula One debut in 1993, Sauber Motorsport AG has established one of the few traditional and privately held teams in the sport. After 25 years of competition in Formula One, the company launched a long-term partnership with Title Sponsor Alfa Romeo in 2018 and enters the 2020 championship under the Team name Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN.

Giulia GTA: The Return of an Alfa Romeo Legend
  • 110 years after its foundation, Alfa Romeo returns to its roots, bringing back one of the legends of its history and of motoring in general: Giulia GTA
  • The new Giulia GTA is technically and conceptually inspired by the Giulia GTA of 1965: the “Gran Turismo Alleggerita” developed by Autodelta and based on the Giulia Sprint GT that racked up sporting successes worldwide
  • Based on Giulia Quadrifoglio, Giulia GTA is fitted with a more powerful version of the Alfa Romeo 2.9 V-6 Bi-Turbo engine, now with 540 hp
  • A GTAm (modified) variant is an extreme 100 percent “street legal” version of the GTA, characterized by two racing seats, roll bar and 6-point safety belts
  • With its extensive use of ultra-light materials, GTA and GTAm benefit from a weight reduction of 220 lb compared to the Giulia Quadrifoglio, achieving a best-in-class weight/power ratio of 6.2 lb/hp
  • Specific technical solutions have also been developed for aerodynamics, setup and handling
  • Alfa Romeo will collect the declarations of interest on Giulia GTA and GTAm starting today, available in only 500 certified, numbered units in total. Lucky buyers will receive an exclusive customer experience, with one-to-one sales process and dedicated experience package

March 2, 2020 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - On June 24, Alfa Romeo will reach an important milestone in its remarkable history: 110 years in business. During that century-plus span, Alfa Romeo engineers and designers have relentlessly pursued innovation, while always remaining true to the brand’s DNA. Over the years, this DNA – the perfect combination of sportiness and elegance – has created not only some of the most iconic vehicles ever built, but also vehicles that are right at home both on the racetrack and in any beauty contest. To mark its 110th birthday, Alfa Romeo presents a vehicle that fully signifies a return to the brand’s origins, while paying tribute to one of the most emblematic vehicles of Alfa Romeo: Giulia GTA.

A set of initials with a legendary feel: GTA
The acronym GTA stands for “Gran Turismo Alleggerita” (alleggerita being the Italian term for “lightened”), and it originated in 1965 with the Giulia Sprint GTA, a specific version derived from the Sprint GT, designed as a sports car and presented at the Amsterdam Motor Show staged that same year. The body of the Giulia Sprint GT was replaced with an identical version in aluminum, for a total weight of 1,642 lb compared to the 2,094 lb of the road version. A second variation concerned the 1.6 twin cam engine which, in the road configuration, with dual ignition, reached an impressive output of 115 hp. The technicians of Autodelta, the official Alfa Romeo racing team, chose it as the reference vehicle for the Touring category, and developed it to achieve a maximum output of 170 hp. The model’s success in competitions was then immediate: three consecutive “Challenge Europeo Marche”, tens of national championships and hundreds of individual races in every part of the world. And the way it ramped up the image of the entire range was also impressive: Giulia Sprint GTA expressed the claim “A victory a day in your everyday car” to perfection. From then on, the GTA made a name for itself as the undisputed icon of Alfa Romeo sportiness and the acronym GTA became so successful that the public soon associated it with all the sporty Alfa Romeo vehicles in general.

The legend is renewed with excellent technical solutions
On the year of its 110th anniversary, Alfa Romeo intends to break a few rules: it doesn’t intend to talk about history, especially its own, nor does it want any gifts for its birthday. Instead, it prefers to give a gift to Alfa enthusiasts by presenting the Giulia GTA. Today, this is a real return to the roots of Alfa Romeo, planted deep in the world of performance and grand touring.

Specific technical features and functional style
For the new Giulia GTA, Alfa Romeo engineers have striven to improve aerodynamics and handling but above all to reduce weight: the same guidelines followed for the 1965 Giulia GTA. The active aerodynamics were specifically studied to increase the downforce. These solutions contain technical know-how that comes directly from Formula 1, thanks to the synergy with Sauber Engineering and the use of the Sauber Aerokit. The same task is assigned to the side skirts, the specific rear spoiler and the active front splitter. The titanium Akrapovic central exhaust system integrated in the carbon fiber rear diffuser is also new, as are the 20-inch center lock wheels, appearing for the first time on a sedan. The handling at high speeds has been improved by widening the front and rear wheel tracks by 50mm and developing a new set of springs, shock absorbers and bushings for the suspension systems. On GTAm, the aerodynamic front piece has been optimized to an extreme level, by adding a larger front splitter and a real carbon rear wing, which ensure a perfectly balanced load at high speeds. In terms of performance, the powerful 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo, made entirely of aluminum and capable of unleashing no less than 510 hp in the standard configuration, reaches a power output of 540 hp on Giulia GTA, thanks to meticulous calibration work performed by Alfa Romeo engineers. The same team has also succeeded in optimizing the implementation of the new Akrapovic specific exhaust system, with its unmistakable sound.

Moving inside the car, several new details stand out: the trim in 100% Alcantara® on the dashboard, door panels, glove compartment, side pillars and the central trim on the seats. Alcantara® is used even more extensively on the GTAm version, where the rear bench has been removed, leaving room for a fully upholstered “basin”, hosting specific moldings designed to hold helmets and fire extinguisher. The new matte carbon inserts endow the interior with a distinctive technical and aesthetic elegance. In the new GTAm, the interior is unique in that it features a roll bar, no door panels or rear seats and the door is opened with a belt in place of the handle, another touch that comes from the racing world.

An excellent weight/power ratio
But power on its own is not enough to ensure extraordinary performance. The work done to reduce vehicle weight has been meticulous and it has reaped particularly impressive results, with a total weight reduction of 220 lb, thanks to the adoption of lightweight materials such as carbon fiber for the drive shaft, hood, roof, front bumper, front wheel arches, rear wheel arch inserts and, on the GTAm, the shell of the specific sporting seats with 6-point Sabelt safety belts. Further, lightweight aluminum is used in the engine, doors and suspension systems, and various other composite materials are used throughout. For instance, Lexan – a unique polycarbonate resin that comes straight from the world of motorsports – has been used in the side and rear window frames, further contributing to the weight reduction. The result is a weight set around 3,350 lb which, combined with the increase in power to 540 hp, brings the weight/power ratio to an excellent level, 6.2 lb/hp, making Giulia GTA and GTAm capable of delivering extraordinary performance. Its acceleration from 0 to 62 mph is lightning fast – thanks to the Launch Control system, the chronometer stops at just 3.6 seconds. The Giulia GTAm is the two-seater configuration approved for on-road use, with front splitter and larger visible rear wing in carbon, the ultimate expression of sportiness. In the GTA version, with the same power, Giulia offers four seats, no rear roll-bar; spoiler and splitter optimized for daily use on the road; the same door panels, seats and windows as those of the Giulia Quadrifoglio. The result is a veritable supercar for everyday use.

A privilege for 500 lucky customers
Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and its extreme version, Giulia GTAm, will be built in a limited edition of only 500 units in total, all numbered and certified and ready to take up their place alongside their 1965 forerunner as one of the most sought-after collector’s items. They are not only magnificent to look at, but they are also ready to unleash impressive power on the road, usable thanks to a series of sophisticated technical solutions. The same exclusivity found in Giulia GTA and Giulia GTAm will also characterize a particularly exclusive dedicated customer experience, designed to treat the 500 lucky owners to a unique interaction that is 100 percent Alfa Romeo. After the advance bookings, which are now officially open and will close as soon as the 500th unit has been reserved, the sales process will be one-to-one, with a brand ambassador product specialist following each customer from order to delivery. But the buying experience doesn’t stop at the dedicated sales process. Indeed, the new owners will also receive a personalized experience package kit, which includes a Bell helmet in special GTA livery, a full racing set by Alpinestars (race suit, gloves and shoes) and a personalized Goodwool car cover for protecting his or her GTA or GTAm. In addition to other equipment for true enthusiasts, the Alfa Romeo customer experience also includes a specific driving course devised by the Alfa Romeo Driving Academy.

Alfa Romeo Museum Fact Sheet
110 Years of Automotive History

June 17, 2020 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Located in Arese, on the outskirts of Milan, the Alfa Romeo Museum is a true brand center that houses more than 200 historical vehicles, the Documentation Center, artifacts and a test track for dynamic activities. The museum offers modern amenities to welcome visitors with every comfort: from the restaurant to the store, from the private event spaces to the sales showroom, the Alfa Romeo Museum is a link between the past, present and future of the brand. The museum will reopen its doors on June 24, 2020, for the 110th anniversary celebration of the Alfa Romeo brand.

HISTORY
  • In the 1960s, a company museum was built inside Alfa Romeo’s Arese headquarters, where the house of the Biscione had moved after leaving the Portello site in Milan
  • Inaugurated on December 18, 1976, the museum for decades was structured as the company’s private collection, which could only be visited by appointment
  • In 2011, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage submitted it for protection as a place of historical interest
  • After remaining closed for a while, the museum reopened to the public on June 24, 2015, following a major work of restructuring and redevelopment performed under the direction of Architect Benedetto Camerana from Studio Camerana & Partners
  • The reopening took place on the day of the world premiere of the new Giulia, the symbol of Alfa Romeo's relaunch
  • The "new" Alfa Romeo Museum is now a place where 110 years of heritage closely intertwine with the history of Italy, narrated and explained to an audience from more than 120 countries

CONCEPT BEHIND THE EXHIBITION
About 70 cars are on permanent public display. They have marked not only the evolution of the brand, but the very history of automobiles.

Notable vehicles include:
  • The first car branded A.L.F.A., the 24 HP
  • The Tipo P2, which became World Champion in 1925
  • The Alfettas 158 and 159 that won the first two Formula 1 titles in history
  • The 8C 2900 B "Le Mans"
  • The red Duetto spider made famous by the film "The Graduate"
  • The legendary 33 Stradale

The essence of the brand is condensed into three thematic areas:
  • Timeline – represents the brand’s industrial continuity
  • Bellezza (Beauty) – combines style, design and lifestyle
  • Velocitá (Speed) – a synthesis of technology, sportiness and driving pleasure

THE STRUCTURE
  • The museum layout underlines the identity traits that belong to Alfa Romeo's DNA
  • The DNA is depicted in an evocative light installation that crosses the building vertically: lights, words and stylistic signs that come to life in a show with a descending helicoidal movement to symbolize the brand’s stylistic continuity and technological consistency over time
  • The building has a red canopy that crosses the entire complex and traces the route from the parking lot to the museum – a red ribbon that leads visitors to the beginning of the exhibition itinerary
  • The canopy is clearly visible from the motorway in its "Alfa red" color and is the symbol of the rebirth of the museum

THE COLLECTION
In addition to the cars on permanent display, the museum's historical collection includes:
  • 150 additional cars
  • Dozens of automotive, aeronautical and marine engines
  • Hundreds of models, trophies, art objects and accessories
  • An airplane
  • A racing motorboat
  • Even a gas cooker
All of these items, which are kept in a dedicated space that can be visited by appointment, constitute an extraordinary treasure that allows the museum to organize temporary theme-based exhibitions, which periodically alternate in the museum foyer and corridors.

These additional vehicles also allow the Alfa Romeo Museum to participate in external events, both static and dynamic, as well as national and international fairs and collaboration with other museums, including the possibility of occasionally loaning cars to particularly significant exhibitions.

ACTIVITIES
To meet the needs of enthusiasts, the museum also organizes a series of in-depth feature events, including:
  • Backstage – Monthly appointments to enhance the history of the brand by exhibiting and studying rare specimens not usually shown to the public
  • Open Bonnets – For a whole weekend, all cars in the museum are displayed with open bonnets, so visitors get the exceptional opportunity to admire the mechanics, the very "heart" of Alfa Romeo vehicles
  • Formula 1 Grand Prix Live Screenings – Held in an auditorium with maxi screen specially set up to welcome fans in a real "Alfa Romeo grandstand"

June 24, 2020 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - To commemorate a milestone that very few automakers can match, Alfa Romeo today celebrates its 110th anniversary, reopening the doors to its historic museum in Arese, Italy, while following all current health and safety guidelines. The brand invites fans from around the world to see new sections of the museum, enjoy exclusive video content and join the celebratory festivities online.

Alfa Romeo Museum, the hub of the celebrations
Located in Arese, on the outskirts of Milan, the Alfa Romeo Museum is a true brand center that houses more than 200 historical vehicles, making it the natural venue to celebrate the brand’s 110th anniversary. As a special gift to all the “Alfisti” fans around the world, Alfa Romeo now opens the museum’s previously private collection storage areas to the public, inviting visitors to enjoy an additional 150 cars, plus trophies, artwork, and engines for road, air and marine mobility. The collection is divided into 18 themed zones, ranging from the brand's earliest cars, such as the 20/30 ES, to Formula racers, with Formula 1 and Formula Indy models among them.

Further highlights of the collection include:
  • Concept cars, such as the Caimano and Protéo
  • Prototypes, such as the Scrabble and Sprint 6C
  • Historic sports model RLs, Vittorio Jano's 6Cs and more recent racing and road cars
Last but not least, the collection houses notable powertrains, including the 4C 1500 from the 1930s and the Formula 1 Turbo 415Ts.

A story linked to a nation
As part of the celebrations, the museum unveils the new “Alfa Romeo in Uniform” section, dedicated to the cars of the carabinieri, the national police force of Italy, as a testament to the historic relationship between Alfa Romeo and the police force, which has long enlisted Alfa Romeo’s most significant models. From the carabinieri's 1900 M "Matta" that won its category in the 1951 Mille Miglia to the legendary Giulia, the most iconic of the “Gazzella” models, plus the 75, the Alfetta Alfa 90 and a rare Giulia Giardinetta, the museum’s new “Alfa in Uniform” section tells the story of the cars, the trims and the eras that have marked Italian history.

A historical acronym for the future: GTA
The new limited-edition Giulia GTA, conceived for the brand's 110th anniversary and confirmed to be sold in Europe, makes its public debut in Arese. From a technical point of view and in terms of concept, the new Giulia GTA is inspired by the Giulia GTA of 1965. Developed by Alfa Romeo’s racing arm Autodelta, the 1965 “Gran Turismo Alleggerita” (GTA) was based on the Giulia Sprint GT that racked up sporting successes worldwide.

The new Giulia GTA is based on the Giulia Quadrifoglio and is fitted with a more powerful version of the 2.9 V-6 bi-turbo engine with 540 hp. With its extensive use of ultra-light materials, it benefits from a weight reduction of 220 lbs (100 kg), achieving a best-in-class weight/power ratio of 6.2 lbs/hp (2.82 kg/hp). Additionally, specific technical solutions have been developed for other aspects, namely aerodynamics, alignment and handling.

“A Tour of 110 Years”
The brand is offering a virtual tour of the museum through a series of videos produced to commemorate this remarkable event. Titled “A Tour of 110 Years,” the video series includes:
  1. An introduction, offering a panoramic view of the museum
  2. The Timeline concept, describing the brand’s industrial continuity
  3. The Beauty area, combining style, design and lifestyle
  4. The Speed section, a summation of technology, competitive spirit and driving pleasure
  5. An exclusive view of the Storage area, featuring a collection of vehicles and artifacts previously unseen by the public
  6. An overview of the Archive, showcasing photographs, videos, technical drawings, sketches and production records
Passionate participation
Alfa Romeo is inviting all fans, from die-hard “Alfisti” fans to casual enthusiasts, to join the festivities at the museum via the brand’s official social media channels at this link. For those able to visit the museum in Arese in person, Alfa Romeo has organized the direct involvement of clubs, visitors and enthusiasts, inviting fans to participate in several activities, including parades on the museum’s internal track. All activities will be conducted following current sanitization and safety guidelines.

Farina and Fangio to Räikkönen and Giovinazzi
Alfa Romeo was the manufacturer that won the very first Grand Prix race and the inaugural edition of the Formula 1 Championship in 1950, with Nino Farina on board an Alfa Romeo Gran Premio Tipo 158 "Alfetta." That triumph was repeated in 1951 by Juan Manuel Fangio in the Alfetta 159. This goal to obtain the ultimate motor racing prize continues, so it’s only fitting that today features special greetings from Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN F1 drivers – world champion Kimi Räikkönen and rising Italian talent Antonio Giovinazzi.

Three exceptional travel companions join Alfa Romeo
Swiss luxury watch company Eberhard & Co. is strengthening its bond with Alfa Romeo by creating a new limited-edition chronograph to pay tribute to the 110th anniversary. A unique timepiece, the chronograph is designed to encompass all the technical and stylistic content long seen in Eberhard & Co. products, with the same sporty and glamorous appeal as Alfa Romeo’s models.

Italian bicycle manufacturer Compagnia Ducale’s contribution is the Alfa Romeo 110th Anniversary e-MTB, an electric mountain bike that combines strength and sportiness with the comfort of assisted pedaling. Its athletic feel is reflected in the tech specs – a powerful yet quiet 500-watt battery, fully integrated into the frame – and in the striking livery created jointly with the Alfa Romeo Centro Stile, the brand’s in-house design and construction office.

AUDES Group is the official licensee for Alfa Romeo apparel, a partnership that begins with a collection to celebrate the brand's 110th birthday. AUDES Group – the official clothing licensee – designs, produces and distributes its Alfa Romeo-branded collection worldwide.
