Like the fact that the dash is illuminated to see it even in the day but as it gets dark outside I'm not aware that I have not turned on my head lights since my dash is all lit up. In other vehicles looking at a dark dash signaled you to turn on the lights How do you get reminded in the Nitro?
What is funny is when I do turn on the lights the dash becomes dimmer.

Is there some way around this issue? Can't tell you how many times I've gotten flashed fr not having my lights on.
Can the lights be made to turn on automatically?

You are not alone! I too have the same problem since my Wife's vehicle has automatic lights and nearly all my previous cars had them too! Many a time I forget to turn on my headlamps. I found looking at the three round heater / A/C / fan knobs in the center of the dash to see that they are lighted up is the only way I know if I have turn on the headlamps. Give that a try and Welcome Lidaor to this Site.

Thanks Rick.
After several attempts of turning on and off the lights and having other vehicles think I'm flashing them, I finally had figured out to look at the three knobs. Of course this only works once you've questioned if they are on or not, which I have done, before your fellow motorists start flashing you.
Hopefully they have fixed what I consider a design flaw in their newer models.

No, really all Nitros are all about the same, design flaws and all! They did correct issues with TSB early on but never addressed any others by design in later years, that I'm aware of. On the positive note I was at Kroger's yesterday and a women came out of her way to tell me how she really loved my Nitro. She said you must have special ordered this one. Yes I did. This happens routinely with no one realizing that they are no longer in production or that mine is a late 2007. It still turn heads and I'm just as please with it as on the day I took delivery!

I do have one advantage over you with my modified CG® - Chrome CCFL Halo Projector Headlights with LEDs, Amber Reflectors G2 that I wired the halos to be on when vehicle is running and added bright amber bulbs to the fog lamps that remain on too. So even if I would forget to turn on the headlamp at night they see me anyway! Ha Ha

The first day that I purchased mine new, it was prepped and sitting inside in the vehicle delivery are. Of course, the lights around the speedo, tach and gages were lit. I thought that this was odd when I started the truck, to drive it home. I got out, and the lights were off! The salesman never went over this with me. I am used to this now, and do look at the heater controls. It would have been nice if an indicator light was on the dash to let the driver know that the headlights are on. So, I drive with my fogs on - I know that I am not supposed to do this, but it gives me another way of letting me know that my lights are on.
