Edmonton Police Service Robbery Section detectives have charged an Edmonton man in connection with 18 robberies since June.
At about 6pm Tuesday night a man entered a gas station near 92 Street and 34 Avenue. He walked up to the clerk, took out a hammer, and demanded cash and cigarettes. He got both and took off in a 2007 Dodge Nitro.

Edmonton Police took up the chase near 85 Street and Millwoods Road West. They tried to get the driver to stop, but the pursuit began, with the suspect ramming one car.

The chase was called off after reaching speeds of 120 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, and after the suspect drove up on the sidewalk.
The suspect vehicle was found abandoned a few minutes later on Lee Ridge Road, with a male matching the suspect description found walking nearby. Police arrested him, and he's in custody.

31-year-old Gregory Dwight Marshall is charged with 18 counts of robbery, ten of possession of a weapon, dangerous driving and criminal flight
