Sales growth streak continues
- March sales up 3.5 per cent
- Jeep(R) brand sets new March record up 25.8 per cent
- Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan Minivan continue to
thrive

WINDSOR, ON, April 1 /CNW/ - Chrysler Canada announced today a sales
increase of 3.5 per cent, reaching 20 months of consecutive sales growth.
Chrysler Canada sold 21,745 vehicles in March, including 5,677 cars and
16,068 trucks. Compared to March 2007 when 21,011 units were sold, sales for
the month are up 3.5 per cent. Sales success continues to be supported by
competitive Canadian pricing and highly desirable products that meet consumer
needs.
"We are pleased to announce our best March for total sales in six years
and our best March for retail sales in eight years," said David Buckingham,
Vice President of Sales. "Our wide range of vehicle offerings, including a
number of highly fuel-efficient vehicles that meet customer needs are proving
a success in the marketplace."

March Highlights

The recently launched, all-new Dodge Journey hit 651 units of sales this
month.
The total Jeep(R) brand was up 25.8 per cent to 4,748 setting a new March
record over last year's record of 3,774.
The Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot are up 29.2 per cent
over last year's total of 3,258 units.
The all-new Chrysler Town Country and Dodge Grand Caravan sales continue
to thrive. The Grand Caravan achieved a 26.9 per cent increase with
3,633 units and sales of the Chrysler Town Country achieved an all-time record
with 507 units.
The Dodge Ram pickup demonstrated its strength with sales of 4,285 units,
with Ram 1500 increasing 7.7 per cent.
The Chrysler Sebring Sedan achieved 29.2 per cent increase with
1,044 units. Additionally, the Chrysler 300C increased 52.8 per cent to
194 units and the Dodge Charger increased 41.6 per cent to 630 units. Both the
Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300C are built at Chrysler's Brampton Assembly
plant in Brampton, Ontario.
On the strength of the new diesel engine, Grand Cherokee sales were up
107.8 per cent to 798 units.
"Value conscious Canadian consumers continue to search out aggressive
deals, and Chrysler is rewarding them with our best deals of the year,"said
Buckingham.
'Canada's Choice' is enhanced for April, providing $2,000 in Mopar
Accessories, or $1,750 in No-charge options or Extended Service Plan or
$1,000 in Free Gas or Bonus Cash in addition to cash discounts up to $7,000.
Total discounts of up to $9,250 are available on the 2008 Dodge Ram 1500
and up to $8,000 on the fuel-efficient 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel.
