November 1, 2013 , Windsor, Ontario - Chrysler Canada today announced its 47th consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth, representing the longest sales streak in the company’s history. October 2013 sales were 18,131 compared with 17,504 vehicles sold in October 2012, representing a 4 per cent increase.

“30 years ago this month, we reinvented the North American automotive landscape with the introduction of our Chrysler and Dodge minivans and have maintained segment leadership since day one,” said Dave Buckingham, Chief Operating Officer, Chrysler Canada. "Chrysler Group has brought a steady flow of new and award-winning products to market in recent years. Boasting improved fuel efficiency, great value and options that meet consumers’ needs, our products have led us to achieve an uninterrupted streak of sales increases over the past 47 months.”

Sales Highlights:

The all-new 2014 Ram EcoDiesel recently took the top spot at the 2014 Canadian Truck King Challenge, beating out all the major truck competitors in a series of head-to-head tests. Ram trucks swept the entire competition, winning every one of the light- and heavy-duty categories. Ram 1500 with V6 Pentastar claimed the top spot in the under $45,000 light-duty category. Ram 1500 EcoDiesel and 5.7L HEMI claimed a 1-2 finish in the over $45,000 light-duty category. Ram 2500 HD with Cummins Turbo Diesel power won the 3/4-ton class. Sales continue to be very strong, with 67,727 trucks sold in 2013. This represents an annual record set in only 10 months.

Jeep is one of the most iconic brands in the world, with over 800,000 units sold globally in 2012. One of the more fun-to-drive Jeep products in the brand line-up is the Wrangler, with its open air freedom and the ability to go anywhere and do anything. In October 2013, there were 1,211 Jeep Wranglers sold, compared with 1,154 sold in October of 2012. This represents a 5 per cent increase, as well as a monthly record. Jeep Wrangler remains Canada’s best-selling compact Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).

Dodge Journey remains Canada’s best-selling crossover, since it was introduced in 2008. Ranked as a ‘Top Safety Pick’ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), with unsurpassed all-wheel-drive highway fuel efficiency, best-in-class V6 towing, best-in-class V6 driving range, and seating for up to seven passengers and their cargo, it’s no wonder Canadians are choosing Dodge Journey as their favourite crossover. October 2013 sales were 2,525, compared with 2,198 vehicles sold in October, 2012. This 15 per cent increase represents a monthly sales record.
