October 1, 2013 , Windsor, Ontario -

Chrysler Canada today announced its 46th consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth, representing the longest sales streak in the company’s history. September 2013 sales were 19,858 compared with 19,555 vehicles sold in September 2012, representing a 2 per cent increase.

“At Chrysler Canada, we are delivering vehicles throughout the country that hit the sweet spot of the market with their fuel efficient, stylish, capable and affordable appeal,” said Dave Buckingham, Chief Operating Officer, Chrysler Canada. "September 2013 marks the best calendar-year-to-date sales results in 13 years. This year is shaping up to be one of our best on record.”

Sales Highlights:
Passenger car demand remains strong with an increase of 18 per cent in sales, resulting from 40,377 vehicles sold thus far in 2013, compared with 34,187 sold in the same period of 2012. Strong sales leaders in September were Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. These two mid-size sedans appeal to a broad range of customers with their responsive steering, premium soft-touch interiors and affordability. September 2013 sales were 969 for Chrysler 200 and 670 for Dodge Avenger. This represents an increase of 2 and 44 per cent respectively, as well as a September sales record for Chrysler 200.

September was also a strong sales month for Dodge Dart. This powerful, fuel efficient and stylish compact car, set a September sales record with 683 vehicles sold in 2013, compared with 606 sold in September of 2012. These numbers represent an increase of 13 per cent.

The Windsor-built Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country remain at the top of their game, after nearly 30 years in the marketplace. Collectively, they still command over 60 per cent of the minivan market in the country. The Chrysler Town & Country set a monthly record in September 2013 with 454 sales, up from 162 in September of 2012, which is an increase of 180 per cent.

Since the introduction of the all new Ram 1500 late last year, bringing best-in-class fuel economy along with class exclusive; 8-speed automatic transmission, Active-Level™ air suspension, link coil rear suspension, 7-inch customizable in-cluster display and RamBox® cargo management system, Ram Trucks have been shattering monthly sales records and the month of September was no exception.
