Judging by the rabid interest in any scrap of information related to the upcoming Dodge Challenger until now, you didn't have to be a Mopar Engineer to know that when Chrysler started taking orders for the first batch of 2008 Challengers, all of which will be SRT8 models, that they'd have some takers.
According to Chrysler's Firehouse.biz blog, since orders opened on Monday, more than 4300 prospective buyers plunked down deposits on the first day alone, and some 6000 in total this week, which the automaker calls 'unprecedented.' The car is available for order in black, silver and the car's signature HEMI orange, and, you guessed it, more than half of all orders so far have been for the orange-sprayed car
