No involuntary job cuts expected this year

More than 1,000 salaried and 6,000 hourly workers have been granted buyouts or early retirement packages by the Chrysler Group this year, according to a memo sent to employees Monday.
That is slightly higher than the company had planned, but not everyone who raised his or her hand among the hourly ranks was granted a buyout.
