Leather seats and rear-seat DVD now standard on all Town & Country models

3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine provides best-in-class horsepower with excellent fuel economy

More than 40 available safety and technology features, such as SafetyTec™, which provides industry-leading features including ParkView® rear backup camera, Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection

September 1, 2011 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The 2012 Chrysler Town & Country minivan builds upon the dramatic, and well received, changes made the previous model year. Already imbued with innovative technology, unparalleled functionality, classic design, and a long list of standard convenience and safety features, enhancements in refinement make the 2012 Town & Country a true stand-out in the minivan segment.

“The 2012 Chrysler Town & Country is the ultimate realization of the American Dream,” said Saad Chehab, Head, Chrysler Brand – Chrysler Group LLC. “For those who’ve worked hard to provide the best for their families, and who understand that settling down has nothing to do with settling for a minivan. By combining a world-class interior, best-in-class horsepower, spirited driving dynamics and class-exclusive one-touch Stow `n Go® seating, Town & Country embodies the Imported from Detroit ethos - offering style, comfort, and performance - for up to seven passengers.”

Improvements for 2012 include standard leather seating and rear-seat DVD for all models, new Sapphire Blue interior lighting scheme and a combination leather and wood steering wheel for Limited models. There are also three new exterior colors for 2012: True Blue, Cashmere Pearl, and Crystal Blue.

Chrysler Group invented the modern minivan in 1983 with the Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager. The first luxury minivan, the Chrysler Town & Country, debuted in 1989. Seventy-five minivan-first innovations and 13 million minivan sales later, the company still leads the way with the best, most innovative vehicle to move people and things.

The latest round of minivan firsts include a heated steering wheel, Stow ‘n Place™ roof rack system that allows roof bows to be stored in the rails when not in use, an integrated super center console for first- and second-row passengers, and a fuel economizer mode that helps the driver maximize fuel efficiency.

Thanks in part to continuous refinement and innovation, the Chrysler Town & Country was ranked highest in minivan segment by J.D. Power and Associates in their 2011 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS).

Chrysler Town & Country is available in the United States in three different models: the Chrysler Town & Country Touring, Town & Country Touring L and Town & Country Limited. All car companies talk about how many cubic feet of cargo space their minivans have. But how easy is it to create that space?

November 26, 2012 , Los Angeles -

Chrysler – the inventors of the minivan – is bringing modern design to the segment with the 2013 Town & Country S model. Debuting at the 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show, the Town & Country S is the latest “S” model in the Chrysler line-up, joining the 200 sedan and convertible and 300 sedan. The Chrysler Town & Country S gets exterior and interior enhancements as well as some standard equipment commonly associated with top-line models.

"We tailored the new Town & Country S for the active and style minded consumers. It's the downtown style for the Town & Country’s uptown looks,” said Saad Chehab, President and CEO – Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "It's more than fitting that we unveil this vehicle in Los Angeles given Town & Country S represents yet another modern take of ‘313’ in the ‘310.’”

Available in Brilliant Black, Deep Cherry Red, Stone White or Billet Silver, the 2013 Town & Country S gets revised trim that adds contrast to the minivan’s typically bright exterior treatment. A black chrome grille is combined with black-background Chrysler Winged badges front and rear, a black rear fascia step pad, “S” model badging, 17-inch aluminum wheels with polished face and black-painted pockets and blacked-out headlight bezels (delayed availability).

The interior features a monotone black interior unique to the Town & Country S. It starts with the Black Torino leather seats with an “S” logo embroidered in the seat backs and black Ballistic cloth seat inserts. The seats also feature grey stitching as do the door armrests. Piano Black gloss appliques are found on the instrument panel and on the spokes of the black leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the Chrysler Winged badge on the wheel matches the black background-look of the exterior badging. Finishing interior touches include a black headliner and upper consoles, black center console and an “S” logo in the instrument cluster.

The segment-exclusive dual-screen Blu-Ray DVD system with HDMI input, two USB recharging ports, a 12v outlet and a 115v two-prong outlet is standard. This system, new for 2013, allows rear seat passengers to view standard and Blu-Ray DVDs or to play a high-definition video game system on the new, higher definition, screens. Wireless headphones allow back seat passengers to enjoy this state-of-the-art system without forcing front seat passengers to hear the accompanying audio.

The 2013 Town & Country S also features a performance suspension that adds a new level of handling dynamics to the driving experience, yet still provides a comfortable ride that’s expected in a luxury minivan.

Town & Country’s award-winning powertrain delivers best-in-class horsepower without sacrificing fuel efficiency. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine is a two-time “Ward’s 10 Best Engine” winner and produces 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The V-6 is mated to the 62TE six-speed automatic transmission. Optional on Touring and standard on Touring L and Limited models is the SafetyTec Group consisting of rain-sensitive windshield wipers, Smartbeam headlamps, ParkSense rear park assist system, Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection.

New for 2013 is standard trailer sway damping that monitors a towed trailer’s behavior and automatically uses Town & Country’s anti-lock braking system to mitigate any swaying motions.

More Town & Country owners return to buying another Town & Country than any other minivan

Town & Country offers class exclusive fold-flat Super Stow 'n Go seating, Blu-ray rear entertainment system and five-year Roadside Assistance

Real Town & Country owners share their experiences of owning a Town & Country on testofownership.com

January 16, 2013 , Auburn Hills, Mich. -

Chrysler brand announced today that the Chrysler Town & Country won the Polk Automotive Loyalty Award in the “Minivan” category for a record 12th consecutive time. The creators of the minivan, Chrysler has been receiving this award since 2002. For 2012, 31.2 percent of all returning Town & Country minivan owners bought another Town & Country, according to Polk analysis.

”No other model has had a run of success like the Town & Country,” said Brad Smith, Director of Polk’s Loyalty Management Practice. “With 12 consecutive years of best-in-class owner loyalty, Chrysler has had to adapt to evolving customer expectations and increased competition, yet through it all has continually developed a Town & Country that delights customers and drives high rates of repurchase loyalty.”

The award recognizes manufacturers for superior owner loyalty performance, which is determined when a household that owns a new vehicle returns to market and purchases or leases another new vehicle of the same model or make. The 2012 awards are based on an analysis of more than 5.9 million new vehicle owners who bought new vehicles again during the 2012 model year.

“This award mirrors the true Town & Country owner experiences told by the owners themselves on testofownership.com,” said Saad Chehab, President and CEO – Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “The customers voted and this Polk Loyalty Award fuels us at the Chrysler brand to keep the pace and hold this badge of honor with great care and responsibility. It's a record milestone in Loyalty proving the great value Town & Country continues to deliver.

“The unmatched customer care of five-year Road Assistance, the exclusive versatility of its fold-flat Super Stow ‘n Go rear seats, the added peace of mind safety systems such as blind spot monitoring, backup camera and Park Assist, plus the segment's only Blu-ray rear seat entertainment system, are just a few parts of what makes the new Town & Country the leader of the minivan pack for a record twelve years in a row.”

Town & Country’s award-winning powertrain delivers best-in-class horsepower without sacrificing fuel efficiency. A fuel economizer mode helps the driver maximize fuel efficiency, and premium, lower-rolling-resistance tires, and low-drag brake calipers and rear bearings make great fuel economy possible. Town & Country achieves 17 miles-per-gallon (mpg) in the city, 25 on the highway.

The 2013 Chrysler Town & Country is an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick and offers over 40 available safety, security and technology features, providing customers the safety they expect to ensure peace of mind when traveling.
