Chrysler will discontinue its Employee Pricing Plus Plus program at the end of April. The promotion was launched in January and has helped boost the company’s retail sales but it has been very costly and has kept Chrysler at the top of the heap in incentives spending.

Steve Landry, executive vice president of North American sales, marketing, parts and service, also says Chrysler will end its special wholesale incentives for dealers. The program rewarded dealers who met targets for new vehicle orders but forced some dealers to order inventory they did not want. In addition, financing constraints meant some dealers could not participate in the program.

Landry also said Chrysler is reducing the target figure for dealer sales to 10,000 units fewer than the company’s sales projections.
