China, which only recently embraced the capitalist idea of cars for the masses, is now eyeing the country where the concept originated. It is going to try to crack the American automotive market.
Chinese automaker Chery has signed a deal with DaimlerChrysler to market small cars in the United States through Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealerships. It is an ambitious undertaking for a carmaker only 10 years old and tiny by world standards, just 300,000 sold last year.
