Dealership is a joke

Got a nice black Nitro a couple weeks ago and when we baught it the dealer assured us that the Bluetooth handsfree phone system was there and they could set it up blah blah blah. So we got the vehicle because of that and other stuff. So Im at home in the Nitro trying to figure out how to sync up my phone and see that it requires a special rearview mirror with a mic and stuff to work. So we take it to the dealership and ask them to set it up like they said they could. After and hour or so of 5 or 6 salesmen, techs, and managers looking at it they come to the conclusion that it doesnt have it. Finaly one guys who knows what he is talking about says that it wasnt even available when we got the car, but that they were on the way and could be installed the next week when they came in. He would call us when that happend. Its now been 2.5 weeks since he said they would be in and no word. Every time we try to ask them about the parts they "have to look into it."

Now, Im moving to Colorado from Texas (where we got the car) in 2 days. Im getting angry. Anyone else know of anything about the mirror?

Cliffs: Was sold a Nitro with bluetooth phone system. It didnt have the system and the dealership people dont know what the f*** they are doing.

Having the same problem with Superior Chrysler Dodge in Industry, Ca. Salesperson assured me it came with Uconnect etc. went to program it and nothing. Service manager says the SXT isn't even available with Uconnect.

Oh yeah, we bought the SXT because the sales manager said the SLT only came with leather interior. My wife and I not being fans of leather seating decided on the SXT because of this. Come to find out you can get cloth interior with SLT model, that particular dealership just didn't have any. Guess they didn't want us shopping somewhere else.

My passenger airbag cover dash piece has a bunch of 1/2"-3-4" ring impressions on it. Took it back to the dealer, they ordered, said they would call when it came in and schedule a replacement. It's been there for 2 weeks they never called.

It's not just your dealer that's a joke... it's DODGE (DaimlerChrysler) itself!!! I tried 4 or five times going through Dodge & DaimlerChrysler customer service to get an answer to this unbelievably hard question... Do the OEM stock Dodge 20" wheels that come on some Nitro SLT's and the R/T also fit the Nitro SXT?
You would think I was a spy trying to steal company secrets. They were rude and basically just say we don't know or we're not going to tell you... depending on who you talk to. They won't connect you to a supervisor and when you try to complain by replying to an e-mail you just get the same people. I'm still trying and contacting every single number I can find! I like the Nitro a lot... but I would never set myself up again with this poorly run and uncaring company. You can see why Toyota is doing so well!!!
that sucks your havin crapy service but its the same in every large company u have to deal with nobody knows nothing because they werent trained properly or there only there for the pay check . anyway i have had my nitro slt for over six weeks now. it has u connect with the mic in the mirror. theres at least six wires that come from it that will have to be wired in. u will also need a cell phone that has blue tooth.

I also have those funny rings around the air bags on the pass side-but my dealers in Houston will not change it until it starts to peel were it is very notice
Yep,
Lol,Texas.
Consumer protection is non existant there.
With cool stuff like manditory arbitration etc.
Might as well call it the Screwyou State.

We bought our Nitro after being told it had a Bluetooth Phone system.
After we bought it we were told we had to buy yhe mirror for it to work.
Didn't push the issue becuase we were on military orders.
Looks like a common scam with dealers.
Maybe it should be a class action rebuttle.
I recently posted a thread about a transmission noise (whistling) 2007 Nitro R/T 4.0 (still under manufactures warranty)and actually experienced the nightmare of a life time, with not only the selling dealership but w/ (2) other dealerships who definitely did not want to address this problem. The third dealership stated it was definitely coming from the transmission but was advised by the manufacture not to do any transmission work until the problem got worse. The customer assistant center is no more than a joke, such a joke, I ended up trading the vehicle, taking a lost but gained my sanity back. I would NEVER own another Dodge product which is back by a 100% warranty that includes deception, lies, lack of customer service and mistrust. Good luck to you all who swear the Nitro is the best thing out there. Never again.
Dealers are a joke over here in Australia too. Our very first experience with Chrysler Jeep Dodge went as follows;
Saw the Nitro as we drove past a dealership in Melbourne (Aust.) so went for a test drive. We liked it so asked for a trade in price for my wifes Suzuki Jimny. The sales man had all the paperwork out & started filling it in and i said to him, I just want to know a trade in / change over price, we'll sleep on it , then come in on Monday. (it was a Saturday when we test drove.)
Well after telling him that we were shown the door, quite literally! (the salesman looked as if his second job was a night club bouncer!)
I did my research on Sunday & Monday we went in armed with printouts from internet car sale sites (the car was worth quite a bit more than we expected).
The arrogant pricks offered us less than half what it was worth so we elected to sell the care privately. It sold in a flash, the second person to contact us Flew to Melbourne From Brisbane! & drove it home. Would seem that my wife & i are better used car sales people than the arrogant f-wits at Dodge!

But then we get the car & i couldn't quite put my finger on it at first, but something was wrong. Then i worked it out; no premium sound system with subwoofer & 12v outlet in the subwoofer. I distinctly remember saying to my wife when we test drove it that we'd be able to plug the car fridge into the 12v outlet in the back (in the subwoofer housing).
When we approached the dealer the response was "you've got the 08 model, which doesn't have that sound system as standard, instead it's got climate control (which i hate, i'd much rater control it myself)
The old "Specifications subject to change" clause.

We haven't had too much trouble with it (except for the servicing costs being huge!!$$$$$) but close to the end of the warrantee we got a rattle in the sunroof.
Took it in (we live an hour and a half from the closest dealer) spent nearly 6 hours waiting, finally fixed. But, a few weeks later and with only a few weeks left of warrantee i heard the rattle starting to come back (just) and the reverse sensors weren't working.
Back we go, managed to demonstrate 1 knock of the rattle to the mechanic (like i said, it was only just coming back). They seemed a little pissed coz it was so minor but i only had about a week of warrantee left.
they fixed it in 3 hours this time, but charged me $81 to fix the reverse sensors even though it was still in warrantee! They claimed that it was the trailer plug full of dust & dirt. I notice that the fusebox under the hood has a dustproof seal; i argued to no avail that if the electrical system is affected by dust, then it should be dustproof!!! They gave me a sob story that they spent 3 hours on the sunroof & that they can't claim any warrantee work on it (i asked why, they said just because!) so reluctantly i paid.
Today,9 days after it was "fixed" and 2 days out of warrantee, NO REVERSE SENSORS! I spent a while cleaning the trailer plug (not that it was dirty anyway) to no avail. I think the dusty trailer plug was a load of B.S.
I'm going to ring them tomorrow & tear them a new one (not that it'll do an ounce of good)

After a bit of internet research, a phone call to Narva and a bit of testing i've found the answer to the reversing sensor problem. The magnetic reed switch in the trailer socket is at fault, bridging the 2 reed switch input output wires got the beepers working again and testing the reed switch its self revealed an open circuit with the socket door open and closed.
During my testing the reed switch started working again (i think it was the opening & shutting of the door (which has a magnet glued to it) got it working.
It would seem that when the door is closed (i.e. you don't have the trailer plug in) the circuit is closed (completed) and the reverse sensors will work (bridging the 2 wires together getting them to work also confirmed this(
And when the door is open, the circuit is open / broken so the reverse sensors are inhibited.
Guess how much DODGE wanted for a new Socket?
Well over $200 ($250 , 270, 220 i can't remember, i tuned out after i heard 200 and..)
That did include the socket and the rest of the wiring associated with fitting a tow hitch; they don't supply just the socket! What a joke!

Well here's the latest installment of the Dodge service saga!
I noticed the other day that the transmission dipstick was missing! Rang the dealer to be told there is no dipstick, just a cap (makes it hard to check the level doesn't it!!!!!)
So the cap is missing, probably from 15000 km ago when they did the transmission service (10,000km late i might add!), they obviously forgot to put back in & didn't notice at the next service either.
I stuck my finger in the tube and it came out covered in dust!
How long until i have a transmission failure!
They are so useless they border on incompetence!
The only way to know your car is being serviced properly is to do it yourself,(want a job done properly you gotta do it yourself) but cars are so complex these days with all their electronic bullshit you cant!
We were going to keep the nitro for quite a while as we do a lot of km's and can't afford to go trading on a new car too often, but now i'm living in fear of needing a new transmission coz this one's been filled up with dust!
