I have a 2007 dodge nitro. Been having a nightmare getting the tail lights to work the same.
On the light side, when I hit the brake. The top light of three lights up.
On the right side, when I hit the brake the top and middle light light up.
Which way is the correct way? Can someone go check real quick please?

I have had my right rear replaced this year do to a small collision. They are trying to say the fix or my aftermarket trailer hitch that came with the car (the car was used) may also be causing the problem.

They are looking are looking for a used nitro to compare.

any help would be appreciated.

Sorry Jim just took my NITRO in the shop. Why don't you just make them the same for now and you could always change them later?
Apprently , only the top light on both sides is supposed to go on when you hit the brake.
I guess my towing package is messed up,.
Led tail light bulbs causing ERROR

I am thinking about replacing my tail light bulbs with LED and I was wondering whether the LED bulbs will trigger error message on dashboard?
And if it will, is there anyway that I can work around this issue?
Brake lamp for the 1000000th time

Got the tabs out and the light assembly off and got it all taken care of. Put the bulb in, it worked, put it all back together except for the last stupid tab at the top. Holy mother of sasquatch, is there a trick to getting that sucker in? The bottom one went in no problem, but this one is like trying to stuff a rhino in a keyhole; it may fit, but it just won't stay in there. Before I go all Mt Vesuvius, which I am in close proximity of mentally, I thought I would ask all of you for some wisdome.

Your assistance is appreciated

Not sure why you are having an issue. Maybe damaged? Can you place the top in first? Have done this myself and never any problem. I had to remove both to install new tail lamp bezels. Maybe remove both lamps and compare what is different to help you decide what is the problem in your re-install is. Sorry, best I can do. Good Luck.
Brake Light Switch Replacement - Can't locate Module in vehicle

So, I have an error code saying that the break light switch needs to be replaced. Went to autozone and picked up the Wells CR4854. However, the instructions don't give the location of the actual module to replace it. The guy at AutoZone says that it's at the top of the break peddle, but I can't locate it.

Does anyone have a diagram that pin points the location of that switch module? Its basically plug n play, but I can't seem to find it in the vehicle.

A diagram or exact location description anyone?

2007 Dodge Nitro SLT 4WD

Thanks...

Do you have the error code number? Did Auto Zone use a code reader and what is a Wells 4854, the replacement brake light switch?
Here this should help. Let us know. Good Luck!

08 Dodge Nitro Brake Lights out

No manual to be found. The left brake light went out, went to replaced the bulb and it did not work. Then noticed that BOTH brake lights were not working. Relaced them bot and they both still do not work. The 3rd brake light does work. Anybody able to help me out there? Maybe send me a copy of the applicable wiring diagram and brake switch location and contact break down? Thanks, Brick

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to see you join under these circumstances. Do the tail lamps light? The brake lamps are also tail lamps.
There is a fuse - M1 - Center Brake Light/Brake Switch. Looking at the fuse panel, from the left, second row, top, 15A blue. Maybe this will help. I do not see a listing for separate fuse for brake lights - mine is a 2011.

Hi there.. We are having the same problem with our 2009 (MY08) Dodge Nitro... The top mounted LED lights do work.. both tail lights are out, we have checked the M1 fuse, it is fine... and replaced both globes!!! Any other suggestions??

Hey guys Ive been researching HID lights and have been debating for a while to keep stalk halogen or get the HID kit. I was wondering if hid lights drain your car battery and if.they are safe to operate in all weather conditions.

Lower brake light problems

I have the same problem with my 07, done some digging here and found a possible solution by replacing the brake light switch. That didn't work either. Any one got a solution????
