Hello, Does Anybody Know Where I Can Purchase A New Air Filter For My Nitro Instead Of At The Dealership? They Want $41.00 For The Stock Filter!!! I Would Like To Purchase Only A Stock Filter At This Time. I Know That K&n Filters Has One And Some Other Company That I Can't Remember Right Now, Has A Lifetime Warranty On Their Air Filter For The Nitro. I Have The 3.7L V-6 Motor.

I Currently Have Around 22,050 Miles On My Nitro And I Live Where There Are Gravel/dirt Roads That I Have To Travel On. Just Wondering About A Plain Ol' Cheap Filter, Maybe Fram Or Stp Or Even Supertech Or Whatever. Thanks For Your Time........

My Apologies...............

Hello Bwoody,

Sorry That I Missed Out On Buying A K&n Air Filter From You For My Dodge Slt 3.7l V-6.

In The Future, I May Be Interested In Your Stage 1 Chip. Do You Know If It Will Affect My Factory Warranty? Thanks...

k&n filters ar scary

i think one is risking sever engine damage useing any air filter that is cloth and mesh soaked in a lite oil.oilbath air cleaners wher obsolite years ago. any use on dirt roads without a paper filter of oem spec is un wise, in my experianc, have bin a meckanic for 35years and experianced many engines dieing young due to micky mouse air cleaners. cliff
Finally

The K&n Air Filter Has Been Installed, Will Let All Know If Any Difference In Anything.

$41.OO IS WHAT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP IN LAKE CHARLES, LA. WANTS A PERSON TO PAY FOR A REPLACEMENT OEM AIR FILTER FOR THE DODGE NITRO. "VIAW" HAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION ABOUT A WEBSITE WWW.DODGEPARTS.COM WHERE I CAN BUY AN ORIGINAL OEM AIR FILTER FOR A LITTLE OVER $22.00. DID NOT CALL TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE SHIPPING FOR THIS ITEM, JUST HOPE THAT IT DOES NOT COST MORE THAN $19.00......WOULD EQUAL OUT TO THE DEALERSHIPS $41.00 NOT INCLUDING TAX. THANKYOU ANYWAY, VIAW!!!! WILL USE THE WEBSITE FOR FUTURE USE.

i installed a k & n air filter on my nitro and to tell the truth, i don't feel a difference in the ride, the gas mileage, performance or whatever. i may just be one in a billion that the results may never happen. wish that there was some kind of meter or scale that could be put on the nitro to let me know if a difference is really happening or not. like i have said in the past, the flowmaster muffler that i got installed on my nitro is the best thing that has been added so far for the performance. later.

The performance increase that people refer to is not from changing a filter but to replace the original factory air box assembly with a K&N Cold Air Intake system. This system not only provides better air flow by using a low resistance air filter but it removes some of the restrictions that the OEM system has in flow and channels a cooler air to the intake providing a better combustion.

At least that is the story. Your results may vary, offer void where prohibited. :)
I am using a K&N air filter... have not seen any diference !!!

:D least thing i can say is that i have a lifetime {1,000,000 miles} k & n air filter in my nitro to go along with the lifetime powertrain warranty. still searching for improvements but at a slower pace. in a few days i will be getting two loud air horns installed for my peace of mind. i know this won't help the performance or looks. guess i should have gone with the cold air intake system, never too late but for my current problem i will be dealing with a mega ton of dust on my rides to work and to home. later people!
