thermostat, it is still not working much if any better at all. Suggestions? contact
the mechanic again?

Sorry to hear of your issue, but it is pretty common and usually it is not the thermostat. Some are simple to correct like using the correct settings of the confusing dash controls others are involved. Check out the below Link that may be helpful and Good Luck.

Same problem here on 07 nitro 4.o
Had a local mechanic replace the heater core. Got full heat. Before I had a garage
Flush the h. Core 2x. I flushed it with h. Core flush. But still no heat. Especially if outside temp was 32*. I have the old one on kitchen table. & a thin 1/8" aluminum. Rod goes
All the way down on both sides.
