Just bought a 2011 Detonator a month or so ago and the horn fuses were pulled so I replaced them and the horn keeps blowing randomly both parked and driving. I did a hard reset on the computer and it was fine for 2 weeks. 6am this morning it went off again and since it wasn't quite daylight yet I noticed the headlights were on as well. Im thinking it's not mechanical but something to do with the "Security Guard" theft deterrent system.Anyone know anything about them? Is it an actual unit plugged into the system,a program put in by the dealer or what? The fact that it goes 2 weeks after a reset suggests it's not mechanical like the horn switch, clock spring etc...any help would be appeciated. Dont like having to pull the horn fuses. They have a horn for a reason lol

Sorry for your issues and yes I have seen this issue but not sure of the resolve that usually involves other issues too. It may be a TIPM issue but if it is only the horn maybe not. Sometime it is only a battery that needs to be replaced if more than three years old. Do you have a code reader?

Below LINKS may be helpful. Good Luck!

Dodge Nitro TIPM: totally integrated power module

Problem with the horn signal

Suspect tipm (totally integrated power module) is the problem.

Dodge Nitro Owners Help Info

If you go to Section STEERING SYSTEM.pdf -- 1.3 meg

I see that the clock-spring is shown and discussed (noisy? page 7) then page 22 it shows the clock spring. Could there be an issue with the wiring harness also? Again good luck and hopefully this will be helpful. Happy July Fourth!

Symptoms of a Bad Airbag Clock Spring. An airbag clock spring is used to connect the steering wheel to other electrical devices such as the airbag safety system, radio volume and station selections, horn and cruise controls. ... A bad clock spring can also intermittently blow fuses as the car is driven.
