Hello To All, I Brought My Nitro Into The Dealership A Few Days Ago Because Of A Flapping, Rattling Noise Coming From Outside On Top Of My Nitro In The Front. Seems To Be The Vehicle Length Wise Luggage Rails On Both Sides Of The Nitro. The Noise Starts At High Speeds, 70 Mph And Up.

They Are Ordering New Ones And Will Let All Of You Know The Outcome.

WELL, I HAVE ABOUT 27,400 MILES ON MY 07 DODGE NITRO SLT AND WITH ALL OF THE LITTLE MODIFICATIONS I HAVE DONE..." VERY LITTLE" AND ALL OF THE RECALLS AND THE MANY TIMES THAT I HAVE BROUGHT IT IN FOR REPAIRS FOR OTHER PROBLEMS, WELL IT'S STILL NOT PERFECT BUT SO FAR IT GETS ME TO WHERE I'M GOING, IT STILL MAKES HEADS TURN WHEN I START IT UP AND THE FLOWMASTER MUFFLER MAKES THE BEAST COME OUT, PEOPLE STILL LOOK AT IT PRETTY HARD SOMETIMES TRYING TO FIGURE OUT I GUESS IF THEY WANT ONE OR WHAT KIND IS IT OR WHAT KIND OF BIRD IS THAT STUCK IN HIS GRILL[HA,HA].

I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS MAKE A LITTLE CLUMPING NOISE AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD WHEN DRIVING FAST ON THE ROADWAYS.

THE HOOD SEEMS TO FLOAT A LITTLE TOWARDS ON ITS TAILEND LIKE IT IS DOING THE STRAIGHT VERTICAL WAVE. HHHHMMMM........

THERE ARE NO GRAB HANDLES TO GET IN THE NITRO FOR THE FRONT PASSENGERS, WAS TRYING TO DECIDE ON INSTALLING MY OWN WITH MAYBE SOME POP RIVETS ARE EVEN SOME OF THAT STRONG AS STEEL GREYISH PUDDY, LOCATING THEM ON THE OUTSIDE FRONT PILLAR. YES I DID SAY OUTSIDE. IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER IDEAS ON THIS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
THE HANDLES I FOUND ARE FROM OF COURSE WAL MART, LOCATED IN THE FISHING/MARINE EQUIPMENT AREA. THEY ARE A BLACK PLASTIC/POLYMER STEP/HANDRAIL AND LOOK TO BE OF GOOD QUALITY.

THE ENGINE COULD BE A LITTLE MORE PEPPIER IN THE HORSE DEPARTMENT.

WISH THEY COULD HAVE INSTALLED CAPTAINS CHAIRS IN THE BACK SEAT AREA LIKE THEY HAVE IN CHRYSLER PACIFICA, HAD ONE OF THESE, VERY NICE RIDE, RAINS TOO MUCH WHERE I LIVE AND THE ROADS FLOOD. THE PACIFICA WOULD NOT MAKE IT THRU THE HIGH WATER.

MANY WISHES FOR THE NITRO, I GUESS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE FOR MY NITRO WOULD BE TO GET IT PAID OFF BY THE END OF THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

WON'T HAPPEN ON MY TOUR OF OWNERSHIP.

FRONT PASSENGER SIDE ROOF MOLDING HAS COME APART AGAIN, MUST BE THE TAPE UNDERNEATH IT THAT IS NOT STICKY ENOUGH, LIKE "MYBLUNITRO" LISTED IN A PREVIOUS POST ON A DIFFERENT THREAD.

WILL BRING BACK TO DODGE AGAIN AND LET EVERYBODY KNOW THE OUTCOME. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!

:D gonna put some gorilla glue on it myself because i talked to the maintenance supervisor and he said that even some of the 2008's are having problems and they still don't know how to fix them.

Our Nitro has been in the shop now for over a week ! and they are still trying to fix the rattle /squeak.. which they are now saying seems to be on many of the Nitros and at the gas tank ! I am so frustrated that we are making payments on a brand new Nitro with just about 1,000 miles on it and can't drive it ! also had to have the trim fixed on our Nitro ! the trim at the top ,luggage rack trim on the passenger side ! am so upset, as far as I am concerned right now, they can keep it and let us buy something else !

I ahd replace my top rails years ago due to the car wash shop damaging them. The second time this happened I used Gorilla glue gel , put some strong tape to hold and by next day it was a solid fix.

My Nitro has 144,000 miles on it. When about 120,000 miles i started to get a car body rattle whenever i restarted after driving about an hour. Everyone changes Spark Plugs and Ignition coils but never change the wires that connect to the coils. These get damaged after certain mileage on car cause of the heat buildup in the Nitro. Change after 100,000 miles or when you get the rattle after a restart when car is warm from driven over a while.
