Is it worth getting the REZ system installed? Or will there be new systems soon when the 2011 Nitro comes out?

* Uconnect™ with GPS Navigation from Garmin and Sirius Travel Link (travel link-late availability) on 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is the new radio installed on the new Jeep and will be installed in the 2011 Nitro I have read. As you can see it is much more advance that our previous Uconnect Nitro radio.

Check out the official Jeep Link shown below:

The REZ radio may be for Export only so that would not be the correct, but the 2007/10 RER is a great system. Not sure what the new Garmin system is called yet but if the price was about the same you would have the latest voice command unit, compared to the well proven but older RER unit. Depending on what kind of deal your Dealer may offer you I would go with the 2011 new Garmin unit if you can afford it! Again this might depend on how long you plan to keep your new 2010 and how much you would use this upgrade and yearly miles driven.

Then put it away and control your iPod through your car’s media center or steering wheel controls. Keep your eyes on the road while browsing your MP3 collection. It keeps your iPod charged, too.
o Want to listen to FM 93.1? Why not just say “93.1”? Looking for a SIRIUS Satellite Radio channel but have no idea which channel it is? Press the voice command button and say “The Highway.” Voice command lets you keep your eyes on the road. Supports English, French and Spanish languages.

o Uconnect™ Phone gives you more than just cell phone control. It lets you select radio stations, SIRIUS Satellite Radio channels, and navigation destinations using voice commands.
o With Uconnect™ Phone, all it takes to be connected to your car is a Bluetooth®-compatible phone. Pair up to seven phones with your Uconnect™ System through a simple procedure, and you can communicate with your phone without touching it. Just press the Uconnect Phone button to give your phone voice commands. One phone can be used with the system at a time.
o What’s better than being able to tell your car what number to dial? Telling it to “Call John Doe.” Uconnect™ Phone is smart … smart enough to synchronize with your Bluetooth®-compatible phone’s address book every time you get in your car. It knows who’s in your address book (up to 500 entries), and recognizes names when you say them. Can you say “easy”?
o Make phone calls while keeping your hands on the wheel. All you have to do is press the Uconnect™ Phone button and give it a command using your voice. Tell it to “Dial 1-(xxx)-xxx-xxxx,” “Call Judy,” “Redial,” etc. The conversation plays through your car’s speakers, which the system automatically mutes during the phone call.
