Hi guys, new owner here of a 2008 nitro uk spec 2.8crd sxt,
I have had the car 3weeks and I love it,however the last 2days i have had a problem starting it,I turn ignition on and all the lights come on as they should then I flick the key to the crank position and there is not enough power in the battery to start the car,as soon as I put a boost pack on she fires straight up,this only happens in the morning or after it's been left 8hours or more,I got the car running this morning and thought it must need a new battery as it's very cold here in the uk at the minute, but before I bought one I took the car to have the battery tested and they said the battery was fine but seemed to be charging very high at around and up to 15.2 volts.
So the mechanic said it may not be a battery it could be a faulty alternator regulator?
Thoughts needed asap please.

I got home last night and switched the car off and read the battery and it was 12.96v,so I disconnected the earth lead off the battery and left it overnight, went to the carthi morning and tested the battery again and it showed 12.84v so I reconnected the earth lead and she started straight up,so this surely must mean the battery is fine and that the alternator is at fault?
