So, the GF and I are signing papers on the Nitro tomorrow. We've got it for the night.
Brief introduction on myself:
I'm 27, my name is Victor. We own a 2006 Mustang GT that we've loved the past 2 years and sadly, it's time to get something practical we can have fun in, AND fit people in. I own a couple other cars that I use, and we're trying to maintain just 1 car note while we possibly plan the future.
I work for Maxwell Dodge in Austin, TX and after looking at a few 07's being cleared out and some 08's on the lot, we weren't ready for paying what we would have with my discounts. Our goal was to find a White R/T 2wd with leather. Nothing....
As a technician working for the Used Car portion of the dealership, my main workload comes in from trade-in's being retailed and purchased cars from nationwide auctions. I recondition the cars, make all the necessary repairs to be certified by Chrysler as a Pre-Owned vehicle. With that, my connection to the Pre-Owned Sales Manager enabled me to scout pre-owned Nitros. He said he'd keep an eye out on some of the auctions.
Last week, a Detroit Auto Auction was taking place and he found us a Black 07 model, high 20's in the mileage. Today it arrived. We didn't know the options until the trailer came.
* Black
* R/T Model
* 4wd
* Navigation/MyGig
* Sunroof
* Cloth Black/Silver Inserts interior
The big negative was the cloth interior. After looking at a Black 08 on the lot with leather, we figured we'd get lucky. Now, I don't know much about the Nitro's yet, so I figured it was an 08+ model option.
Into the good stuff. After pricing some of the Nitro's into the mid-20s with options we wanted, I believe we got a hell of a deal. No Markup, No excess Pre-Owned fee's like repair costs being added, we are taking home our R/T for 20,100. After TTL. We are basically buying it exactly at what they own it for. Not too shabby, when weeks earlier we were about to pay 5k more for a 2wd version and no sunroof.
