Every Christmas since 2008 we have strung lights on our Dodge Nitro in hopes of bringing joy to others around us. It can take days to safely affix everything. Several on-road tests are made. We use Starlite Creation battery operated lights from Home Depot, regular bicycle spoke lights from Amazon, and Rayovac AA batteries for best performance. We use recycled yarn to tie the lights securely onto the wheels, and we use either a hot glue gun or green coated floral wire to affix the light strands onto the auto body trim. **Rules of the road we follow include: Lights cannot obstruct traffic or be too bright. No lights are allowed to flash. Red and blue may not be paired together nor flash together at all ever. No white lights allowed on the back of any vehicle (because it looks like head lights driving in the wrong direction of traffic and can cause confusion for other drivers), and no red lights allowed on the front (because it looks like brakes lights driving in the wrong direction of traffic etc.) We discourage random honking. We find only a few random people honk each year.
