Nitro Water leak

We have a 2008 Nitro that recently had standing water in the front and rear passenger side. The carpeting and matts were soaked from the bottom up and the rubber matts on top were dry.

It happened twice now after heavy rain. Does anyone else have this issue and if so, how was it resolved.? Thanks[/B]

Welcome! Was the Nitro driven during this time? If so I have seen missing rubber plugs in the floorboard in other cars, cause this.
water leek, Nito

Thanks. It was parked at the time. I dropped it off at the dealer, they said they would need it for several days. I think it is from the wiper cowl, but not sure.

If you have the time please post the resolve to help others that might have the same issue in the future. Good Luck!

I am having this problem. I can see water coming in under the passenger air vent & running down the side of the glove box. Did you ever get this fixed & how? Please help me!
Do you guys have a sunroof? If the sunroof drains get plugged, this is the result. The drains run down the "A" pillars. If the drains get plugged, the water overflows the trough around the perimeter of the sunroof frame and can run down the inside of the A pillars and end up on the interior floor. Open your sunroof all the way, and you can see the trough for collecting water. The drains are located at the front corners. There could be debris that you can see, or possibly it has already made its way down the drain tube and plugged it. You can blow them out with air pressure, but be careful not to dislocate the tube from the frame. If you don't have the sunroof, forget what I just wrote.
not sunroof

No, it's not the sunroof drains clogged. Any other ideas?
I have same issue with standing water in front and rear passenger floors I soaked it up and it returned next day and no rain in over 2 weeks
Could it be from air conditioning hose? Help please
Dodge Nitro / Jeep Liberty - Heater Core Replacement

Heater Core
No Heat Diagnosis Dodge Nitro

The heater core itself can go bad. Over time, they are known to clog and fail. If you have a heater core that clogged, it’s not going to be able to pass coolant through. Without the warm coolant going through it, there can be no heat. A bad heater core can also leak, so watch out for that. Feel your passenger floorboard to see if it’s wet.

Heater core’s are typically pretty affordable.
