2014 Toyota Tundra Recalled For Airbag Flaw
Sep 11, 2014

Toyota is recalling select 2014 models of its Tundra pickup. According to Detroit News, those vehicles may suffer from a manufacturing flaw that could prevent airbags from protecting passengers in the event of an accident.

Specifically, Toyota says that a component on the Tundra's center pillar may have been improperly installed. As a result, the side curtain airbags may not fully inflate during a collision, increasing the risk of injury to occupants. To date, however, Toyota has received no reports of accidents or injuries linked to the problem.

The recall affects roughly 130,000 vehicles registered in the U.S. and another 10,000 in Canada. Toyota hasn't issued a timeline for the recall but says that once it begins, Toyota dealers will inspect the component on the Tundra's center pillar and replace it if it's been improperly installed.

If you believe that you own one of the recalled Tundra pickups and have additional questions, we encourage you to call Toyota's customer service line at 800-331-4331.
