General Motors has announced a new recall -- its 69th of the year -- affecting nearly 118,000 late-model vehicles. According to the New York Times, the recall includes the following makes and models, which span all four GM brands:

2014 Buick Enclave

2013-14 Cadillac CTS
2013-14 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV

2014 Chevrolet Express
2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD
2013-2014 Chevrolet Suburban
2013-14 Chevrolet Tahoe
2014 Chevrolet Traverse

2014 GMC Acadia
2014 GMC Savana
2014 GMC Sierra HD
2013-14 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL

The Times notes that these vehicles may suffer from electrical shorts due to bits of metal in the chassis control module. Depending on the volume of metal and the severity of the shorts, the flaw could prevent vehicles from starting, or even cause them to stall while in motion. To date, GM knows of no accidents or injuries related to the problem.

Of the nearly 118,000 vehicles affected by the recall, 98,000 are registered in the U.S., with the remainder registered in Canada, Mexico and other markets.
