FCA US LLC today reported U.S. sales of 193,019 units last month, a 14 percent increase compared with sales in September 2014 (169,890 units), and the company’s best September sales since 2000.

The Dodge, Jeep®, Ram Truck and FIAT brands each posted year-over-year sales gains in September. The Jeep brand’s 40 percent increase was the largest sales gain of any FCA US brand during the month. The company extended its streak of year-over-year sales gains to 66 consecutive months.

“On the back of a strong sales industry we were able to achieve our best September sales in 15 years and our 66th consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth,” said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales. “Last month’s sales strength was broad based with five FCA vehicles setting September sales records and two others posting their best monthly sales ever.”

Of the seven FCA US vehicles setting records in September, the Dodge Journey and Jeep Cherokee each logged an all-time sales record last month. Sales of the Journey and Cherokee were up 45 and 38 percent, respectively. In addition, the Chrysler 200, Dodge Challenger, Jeep Compass, Jeep Wrangler and Ram ProMaster each recorded their best September sales ever.

FCA US finished September with a 76-day supply of inventory (590,503 units). U.S. industry sales figures for September are internally projected at an estimated 18.4 million units Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate (SAAR).

2015 Jeep Cherokee
Jeep Brand
Jeep brand sales increased 40 percent, the brand’s third best sales month ever and its 24th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains. The brand’s September sales were its best since August of this year. The Jeep brand continues to roll, having set a sales record in every month dating back to November 2013. Three Jeep brand vehicles set records last month. The Compass’ 54 percent increase was the largest year-over-year percentage gain of any Jeep brand model for the month. In addition, September was the Cherokee’s best monthly sales ever as sales increased 38 percent and Wrangler posted its best September sales ever with a 26 percent increase.

Ram Truck Brand
Ram Truck brand sales, which include the Ram pickup truck lineup, Ram ProMaster, Ram ProMaster City and Ram Cargo Van, were up 4 percent in September, the brand’s best September sales since 1996. ProMaster sales were up 76 percent as the cargo van continues to answer the call of businesses everywhere and solidifies its place in Ram Commercial’s popular truck and van lineup.

FIAT Brand
Sales of the all-new 2016 Fiat 500X increased 10 percent in September compared with the previous month of August, marking the model’s third consecutive month of sales increase since launch. FIAT dealers sold 1,133 units of the new crossover last month as greater numbers reached FIAT studios across the country. FIAT brand sales, which include the Fiat 500, Fiat 500L and 500X, were up 1 percent in September compared with the same month a year ago.


2015 Dodge Journey
Dodge Brand
Both the Challenger and Journey posted their best September sales ever. Challenger sales were up 26 percent as the muscle car logged its eighth sales record this year. Journey sales increased 45 percent, the mid-size crossover’s sixth sales record this year and the model’s best month ever. Dodge brand sales were up 3 percent in September, compared with the same month a year ago.

Chrysler Brand
Sales of the Chrysler 200 were up 3 percent in September, the mid-size sedan’s best September sales ever. Chrysler 300 sales were up 41 percent last month as the brand’s big, bold American sedan posted its best September sales since 2007. Sales of the Chrysler brand, which includes the 200, Chrysler 300 full-size sedan and the Chrysler Town & Country minivan, were down 5 percent compared with the same month a year ago. The Chrysler brand is celebrating its 90th year by producing limited-edition 90th Anniversary editions that offer more standard equipment and value for customers. The anniversary packages are being offered on the volume models, adding value for the customer who will most appreciate it.

FCA México today reported its ninth consecutive month of sales gains with 8,377 units, a 33 percent increase compared with sales in September 2014, marking its best September since 2009.

“With sales up 33 percent, September marks our ninth consecutive month of sales gains," said Bruno Cattori, President & CEO of FCA México. "This shows that we are on the right path. Last month, we unveiled the Sporting line of the FIAT brand, which offers great quality, avant guard designs and the sportsmanship of the Italian brand. We will continue our commitment to have one of the most complete product portfolios in Mexico to fulfill all customer needs.”

Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo brand posted a sales record. It was the brand's best sales month ever with 30 units.

Chrysler
Sales from the Chrysler brand were 297 units, up 2 percent versus 2014. Chrysler 300 sales grew 60 percent, while Chrysler Town & Country sales rose 14 percent compared with sales from the same month a year ago.

Dodge
Dodge brand posted 2,493 units sold, up 102 percent versus 2014. Dodge Attitude sold 1,213 units last month, recording its best September ever. Dodge Challenger posted a sales record with its best September ever. Dodge Charger sales were up 14 percent; best September since 2009. Dodge Vision continued a positive trend with a volume of 194 units. Dodge Journey sales increased 9 percent.

FIAT
FIAT brand posted sales of 747 units, up 18 percent from 2014; best September in its history. In September, FIAT launched a new family of vehicles, Fiat Sporting, which delivers exclusive design and style in its class. It is avilable in Fiat Uno, Palio and 500. Fiat Uno recorded its best September sales ever with 275 units, a 117 percent increase over September 2014, while Fiat Ducato sales were up 93 percent.

Jeep®
Jeep brand continued its strong pace with 1,696 units sold in September 2015. Jeep Grand Cherokee recorded sales of 443 units, up 6 percent versus prior year.

Mitsubishi Motors
Mitsubishi Motors recorded its best September ever with 1,406 units sold, up 14 percent, achieving a double-digit increase for 15 consecutive months. Mitsubishi Mirage continued its positive acceptance in the market and extended its success story in the country by selling 510 units; best sales month since its launch. The all-new Mitsubishi Outlander 2016, which incorporates more than 100 improvements over its predecessor, reported its best sales month of the year.

Ram
Ram brand reported a sales increase of 84 percent, best September since 2010. Ram 700 continued its success in the market by setting an all-time record of more than 700 units sold in September, consildating its leadeship in the segment. Ram 4000 sales surged 40 percent over September´s previous year sales.

FCA Canada Inc. today reported September 2015 sales of 24,007, compared with 23,742 vehicles sold in September 2014. These results mark a year-over-year increase of 1 per cent and represent the best year-to-date sales through September in the Company’s history. Additionally, these sales figures maintain FCA Canada’s position as the number one seller of new vehicles in the country through September.

“Twenty-eight per cent growth in Ram pickup sales was the key factor in driving the strongest September in 15 years,” said Dave Buckingham, Chief Operating Officer, FCA Canada.

Sales Highlights:

The Jeep® brand is headed for another record breaking year, with 2015 calendar-year-to-date sales up 12 per cent over last year’s record total at this time of year. Leading the sales success for the brand is the Jeep Cherokee, which saw 2,823 vehicles sold in September 2015 and which represents an increase of 31 per cent compared with 2,155 sales in September 2014. With exceptional value starting at an MSRP of $25,495 along with award-winning interiors, Jeep Cherokee sales are up 41 per cent so far this calendar year.

Jeep Wrangler also reported strong results in September 2015 with 1,922 sales, up 7 per cent from 1,790 vehicles sold in the same month one year prior. Jeep Wrangler, with its ability to go anywhere and do anything, is seeing a great deal of consistent sales success in Canada. It is the most capable off-road vehicle in its class and outsells every compact SUV in the segment.

These Jeep results signify a September sales record for both Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler.

Switching gears to the Ram brand, September 2015 marked a sales record with a 25 per cent improvement over the previous sales record of 7,133 sales, which was set in September 2014. Looking specifically at Ram pickup truck sales within the full Ram brand line-up, there were 8,449 sold in September 2015, compared with 6,592 trucks sold in September 2014. These results represent a 28 per cent year-over-year increase and set a September sales record for both the Ram brand and Ram trucks.

Ram 1500 is Canada’s most fuel-efficient pickup truck, delivering up to 8.0L/100km; while Ram 3500 delivers best-in-class towing up to 31,210 lb. (14,157kg). Ram trucks have a rugged style and bold focus on the future. They stand the test of time and embrace the toughest challenges, which is why so many customers continue to be attracted to the Ram brand.

FCA closed September with another strong monthly sales performance in Europe. Total unit sales were up 15.6% year-over-year (+9.8% for the industry) to 79,700 units. For the nine months year-to-date, unit sales totaled 668,000 vehicles - an increase of 13.5% over the same period in 2014 compared with 8.8% for the industry overall. The Fiat 500 and Panda continued as leaders in the European A segment, registering a combined share of nearly 28.0% for the year-to-date. The 500L marked its 12th consecutive month as leader in the Small MPV segment (with a 22.5% share year-to-date) and the 500X continued as one of the most popular vehicles in the Small SUV segment. On the back of these individual performances, the Fiat brand outpaced the industry average once again, posting a 15.0% year-over-year increase in September sales. The Jeep brand also maintained its momentum, with the Renegade driving a 158.7% sales increase in Europe.

In September, the European passenger car market (EU28+EFTA) continued the positive trend with new vehicle registrations up 9.8% for the month to more than 1,394,000 units.

For the nine months year-to-date, registrations were up 8.8% to nearly 10,777,000 vehicles.

FCA closed the month with sales up 15.6% over September a year ago to 79,700 vehicles. This marked the ninth consecutive month that the Group has outperformed the industry average, taking European market share to 5.7% (+30 basis points).

For the year-to-date, FCA sales were up 13.5% to nearly 668,000 vehicles and share increased to 6.2% (+30 basis points).

FCA posted sales increases in all major European markets, for both September and the year-to-date, and outpaced the industry in nearly every market. In Italy, sales were up 20.4% for the month and 17.5% for the year-to-date. There were also solid increases in Germany (+4.5% in September and +8.7% year-to-date), France (+17.0% in September and +13.7% year-to-date), the UK (+10.8% in September and +4.1% year-to-date) and Spain (+26.6% in September and +28.6% year-to-date).

Fiat brand posted a 15.0% year-over-year increase in September with 60,600 vehicles sold. Market share was 20 basis points higher at 4.3%.

For the year-to-date, the brand's European sales were up 10.6% to more than 503,000 vehicles and share was 4.7% (+10 bps).

For the major European markets, the brand posted particularly positive September sales in Italy (+23.8%), France (+23.1%), the UK (+5.6%) and Spain (+23.1%). Year-to-date, sales were higher in Italy (14.3%), Germany (4.1%), France (+17.9%) and Spain (+27.2%).

Fiat maintained its lead in the European A segment with the 500 and Panda accounting for a combined 27.2% share in September and nearly 28.0% for the year-to-date. Launched in markets across Europe in July, the new 500 contributed to the model's A-segment leadership for both the month and the year-to-date. The 500L also ranked number one in the Small MPV segment for both September and the year-to-date. With more than 66,300 vehicles sold so far this year, the 500L held a 22.5% segment share. The 500X also made a strong contribution, having firmly established itself among the most popular models in the Small SUV segment with more than 50,000 units sold so far this year. In Italy, the 500X was the best selling vehicle in its segment for the month and the year-to-date. The 500 family continues to be popular across Europe, with 62.4% of sales generated outside of Italy.

Lancia/Chrysler posted September sales of 4,700 vehicles and market share was 0.3%. Year-to-date, brand sales across Europe totaled more than 48,300 units and market share was 0.4%.

In Italy, Lancia's core market, brand sales were up 3.8% for the year-to-date and sales of the Ypsilon increased 11.9%.

Alfa Romeo posted September sales of 5,000 vehicles and market share remained stable at 0.4%. September sales were up 11% year-over-year in Italy and 35.2% in Austria.

Year-to-date, the brand's European sales totaled 43,500 units, with increases of 7.8% in Italy and 28.2% in Austria, and market share was 0.4%.

Sales of the Giulietta were up 6.5% year-over-year in September and 0.6% for the year-to-date.

Jeep marked its 23rd-consecutive month of sales growth in September with unit sales up 132.5% to more than 8,500 vehicles. Market share was double the prior year's level at 0.6%. The brand posted increases in all major European markets, significantly outperforming the industry average. By market, unit sales were up 251.6% in Italy, 44.1% in Germany, 148.3% in France, 175.2% in the UK and 221.2% in Spain.

Year-to-date, sales increased 158.7% to 65,700 vehicles and market share doubled to 0.6%.

Those results were driven by the continued strong performance of the new Jeep Renegade, which has established itself firmly among the top ten in the European Small SUV segment. The Renegade continues to gain momentum with more than 40,000 units sold so far in 2015.

For Ferrari and Maserati, the Group's luxury brands, European sales totaled 687 vehicles in September and 5,774 for the year-to-date.
