The Build process

I just got notice that my cars (two) had been assigned VIN's and they are in D1 status. I ordered these on Jan 23 and this status change just happened March 22. What does this mean? What are the steps to the build process? How can we check further? Thanks, Chuck . . .

How were you notified...phone, mail, or email?
Thanks WB. Now, how do I track them and what does all this mean in the greater scheme of my Nitro's production? Any idea of how long at each phase (code)? Chuck . . .
CDC- I had the VON (I think that is the order number) I called the Chrysler Customer Service and bothered them for a month till this happened. So the answer is, I called them. Chuck . . .

hahaha...thanks Chuck. Maybe I'll do the same with my VON. :D
Once the car hits D1, it's scheduled. It could sit in D1 for a week or a month, depending on the build mix and where you car falls in that mix (for instance, if they are only building 1 R/T in 20 cars, and yours is an R/T, it's gonna wait in D1 for longer). Once it hits E status, it *should* be through the system in a few days, unless it hits a snag (like a parts hold or something).
WB, update you post (and future posts) so I status reads "Built, going thru certification" and J status reads "Certified"
to find out the status of your build
if you know a DCX employee they may be able to find out on the employee website

your dealership gets a weekly update on the status of all vehicles they have ordered

know someone that works at the toledo plant

as to how long they sit at each build level.........that is totally unknown all the scheduling is done according to when the parts will be available and how the plant schedules the build..............unless you know the guy that does the scheduling at the plant their is no way of knowing how long things will take..................

thanks for the correction :D
youroere , you are doing great if you ordered an R/T. I ordered my fully loaded R/T on Jan20th and just called to find out I'm only in D status (with a VIN). Yes I'm jealous you ordered after me and are farther then me in the build process. I guess all in due time, I just can't wait to get rid of this big ole Durang.
Thanks folks-Everything is as clear a mud now. I understand it but can't figure out how to figure it out. They ought to set up a system so we could "watch" through the process. RFId would be a nice add-on here. Sort of a PR thing. My cars are Nitro R/T fully loaded and include the MyGig system. I got them for my twin daughters who are going to graduate college soon. Chuck . . .
Congrats on the twin graduation, and dang you're a great dad. My daughter just left for college so I'm not at that stage yet. This Nitro is for my lovely wife who says she'll let me drive it once in a while.
