Thinking about it....HARD

G'Day all from Downunder,

The Nitro has just been launched here in Australia and I took one for a spin today. It was the 3.7L as we unfortunately don't have the 4.0L (It's a possibility for later in the year though).
Love the looks of this beast and reckon it would look great in black with selected chrome accessories, 22" wheels and drop of about 1.5-2.0 inches.

I'm looking at a few other rides but nothing can touch the Nitro as far as bold looks go. I've checked out the Mazda CX7 and will take the Mitsubishi Outlander out next weekend. The Japanese cars offer greater refinement, especially the CX7, but the intimidating looks of the Nitro just can't be beat.

Decisions, descisions...

Cheers
Sean

Welcome Nitromethane. I too tried the CX7. For me it felt like a front wheel drive mini-van. I did not have the opportunity to drive the all wheel drive model. The Outlander feels like a car, which it is based on. The Nitro just brings a smile to your face. The traction control system is wonderful on the Nitro. You have to pick the one you like best. Good luck.

Tim
Welcome, let us know what you decide!

Those vehicles are passenger cars. The Dodge Nitro is a real SUV. The feeling of power and exhilaration one gets when driving a Nitro is simply not to be found in a rice burner. If you can be patient sufficiently to await the availability of the R/T, with its 4.0L engine, 5-speed electronic automatic transmission, sports suspension, and 20" wheels, by all means do so!
you forgot if you have the Patience AND the Money.. wait for the R/T. LOL

sadly I couldn't afford the RT. I still have a $300/ month payment on my SRT-4
